Wonderful old signal lantern. Marked Seahorse GB 43366. As found with a nice patina. Stands ~ 14 1/4" tall not counting the bail. Dent in top which could be pushed out from inside. Here is a brass oil lamp is marked but is written in German I think please see photos.the The lamp looks to be in very good condition. It may be off of a ship or train. It has a bracket to mount it to a bulkhead or a wall that is with it. Just mount the bracket to the bulkhead or wall and the lamp just slides into the bracket so it can removed to refuel the light. This piece was purchased at an estate sale of a collector. I don't know much about it except that it is vintage from the 1960s-70s. I was told that it is extremely rare to see a Bakboord piece designed as an electric table lamp. The condition is excellent for its age. With the only noticable wear being on the wooden base. See photos for details. The lamp has three possible settings, 1-off, 2-just bottom part is lit(red glass) 3-both top and bottom are lit. The height of the entire lamp is 26. This is an Ouvrard& Villars Nautical Anchor lamp; Beautiful condition, it is constructed of hammered copper with a dual-ring brass cage. Original ruby flashed red globe. Marked O V Depose on the copper. May very well have come from one of the Ironclad Steam Battleships on the Black Sea, I purchased this lantern from the estate of a very meticulous and discriminating lamp collector. This piece has undergone a no-harm electrification. Which can easily be removed. The original oil burner is wired to the underside of the chimney. The original font is in place. The bottom of the font has been painted on the underside. I can't guarantee the font won't leak, but I suspect(but can't confirm) it was painted to stop any rust. You are bidding on the 1930's Steamer Ship Passageway Nautical Light shown in the above photos. This is an authentic well crafted vintage cast brass nautical light. Unlike some of the modern reproduction lights you see on the market. This ceiling mounted passageway light is made of just over 7 pounds of cast brass material. We have taken this original light and added the 8 inch brass deflector cover and covered the original conduit holes on the side with threaded brass plugs. Freshly polished and rewired, this light is ready to hang as soon as you unpack it from our shipping ... morebox. The new wiring will work with any voltage under 250 volts. When mounted to the ceiling, this light will extend down by about 7 inches. To access the bulb, you spin off the brass cage and the glass globe spins off. The top side of the light has three mounting legs. You will need a mounting space that is about 5 1/2 inches square. The deflector cover is mounted to the cage with three screws, so if for some reason you do not want the deflector cover it is removable. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb base, but because this is a low profile light, you will need a short style bulb or 75 watts or less. Antique/Vintage Brass/Copper Nautical Maritime Oil Lamp with Beveled Glass
This antique brass/copper oil lamp is in excellent condition and has a beautiful patina. Only 2 tiny dings at the very top of the chimney about 2mm wide. It measures 13.5"H by 7" W. I can not find a makers mark. But I don't want to polish it to find out. Many antique dealers prefer brass or copper items in there natural aged state. The glass is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks and is beveled. Still has the original oil container with wick and the wick turner does rotate.
