The wide end with the glass measures 17 1/2 inches wide with the glass being right at 15 inches wide. The top mounting pipe we have installed is 10 inches long. You can make this light shorter by changing out this pipe with a shorter piece. Or you can make the light hang further down by adding a longer pipe. This pipe is common 1/2 inch black iron pipe you can buy at most hardware stores pre-threaded. We have used a hammered gold paint to give this iron pipe a matching brass look. The ceiling mount is 3 1/8 inches wide with four mount holes. This light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse Electric. Our newly installed lighting hardware is rated for any voltage under 250 volts, so normal house power is not an issue. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb with a wattage of less than 150 watts. Since the inside housing has very little space restrictions, you can even use the newer compact fluorescent bulbs, or a spot light with a common screw in base. Our wiring exits the center hole of the ceiling mount and we provide about 30 inches of extra wiring. When we find these lights. They are painted. We have removed the paint and polished the copper and brass. We do not try to polish our lights to the point they look new, so some buyers may spend some additional time doing additional polish work to get the light to your desired finish. Most people we have talked to hang our lights of this design with no additional polishing. The 8 closure nuts on the glass end of the light have been cleaned and oiled so they spin on and off with just a little effort. The glass on this light has some surface scratches. Scuff marks, discoloration, tarnishing found to the brass, minor scratches found to the porcelain of the burner, and the burner and font are slightly loose inside the body; this item appears to have never been burned. Us Navy Nautical Ship Light Heavy solid brass. No breaks, chips or repairs that I can see. The brass base is marked twice, once with a US and anchor Navy mark and the second being an overlapping USN and the number 129. The cage is marked 4594-L-7 with an R on the top of the cage. the glass is marked G. B. Inc Type H 2034- Inside there's no socket, but the holes to mount one are still in there in good shape, just need to drop one in there and go for it its about 10 1/2" from the bottom of the mounting bracket to the top of the cage. About 5 3/4" from edge to edge on the mounting bracket. The mounting holes are about 1/2" in diameter. I'm no lighting expert. The outside of the bracket/holder for the lamp has an etched design and arm connecting lamp holder looks to be a mythical/old world dolphin or fish. It appears to all be brass because it is non-magnetic in the wall mount part. Sets out from the wall 8.5" Holder for lamp is 5" diameter at outer point Holder for lamp where the font would sit is 4" diameter Pair weighs 1lb 14oz unpacked One bracket has been repaired: the arm that comes out from the wall mount has been fitted with a plain brass piece. A SET OF ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN BRASS GIMBALED NAUTICAL SHIP LAMPS
A good example of a ships gimbaled lamp from the Edwardian era. The numbers on the base are AP9009 and the makers mark is almost visible. They have been rewired at some point and have a switch in the cord. They are set into a Finished Mahogany base. They could use a good cleaning and have the usual scratches and dings which is not unusual for there age. These are not an exact pair but very close. The lamp shades are included.

Unique Vintage Nautical Ceiling Light Fixture Ship's Boat Anchor Brass
WOW! This great. Unique nautical-themed ceiling fixture would make a terrific addition to anyone's nautical-themed room or beach house! The fixture is composed of a great brass anchor that has six stars in the center and a rope embellishment that wraps around the entirety of the anchor. At the top and on the points of the anchor hang three lovely. Lantern-like fixtures that are screwed into the anchor. The fixture retains its original cloth-wrapped copper wiring and should be rewired prior to use. The sockets are all original and made of porcelain. Note that there are slight bends to each of the shades. It's hard to notice, but I try to be accurate in my descriptions. Approximately 17" from top to bottom and 15" across at the widest point. Please note that I have not tried to polish any of the brass in the event that the ... morenew owner wants to retain its rustic feel. The globes are dusty and the entire fixture could use a good scrub. You'll need a fitting that will hold the fixture to the ceiling after a pole is inserted through the center hole. Pair of 2- Old Brass ship lanterns. Made by the PERKINS MARINE LAMP CORP. out of Brooklyn New York. Brass Has a beautiful natural aged patina. The original glass lens is starting to turn a very slight amethyst color. The lanterns inside were made by E. MILLER Co. And are marked. Look at the pictures closely. This is exactly the way I found them. I think they would polish up nicely. They measure about 17-1/2" tall(including the bail) and each weighs close to 9 pounds. In excellent condition. And would clean up nicely if you choose to do so. Both show expected wear. And have a few dings. Overall in Very Good Condition.

2 ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP MARINE NAUTICAL LANTERNS ELECTRIC LAMP BIRDCAGE PERKINS
I apologize for the length but I wanted to be thorough. Up for sale are two antique nautical oil lanterns that were converted for electrical use. After some Internet research I found a match for these lanterns. They are not stamped but identically match the Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation models made during 1916 to 1931. These were considered a"standing light" and were used aboard US Naval torpedo boats. Battle ships and destroyers of the WW1 era, according to"Lanterns That Lit Our World" book 2 page 120 by Anthony Hobson. Size is 17.5 inches tall and about 9 pounds each. These may or may not have been used in that capacity but they due seem genuine even thought they are not stamped with a company name. In any case as you can see one is red and the other is green. The coloring does not seem to be original according to ... morethe research but you can decide whether to keep it that way or remove the paint. Both lanterns have colored bulbs that will come with this auction. Condition The paint on the red lantern is about 50% missing. It was difficult to get a good picture that represented how the red lantern looks with the bulb on. But there is a picture taken from inside the glass to show the condition of the paint. The red lantern also has 3 vertical seams and do not appear to be cracks. I believe the glass was replaced when they were converted since the lines are straight and do not appear to be damage related. The red lantern also has two screws in the bottom, see pic, to hold the bulb/lantern housing in place. The green lantern has a dent in the top, see pic. The"hanging hooks" are a bit out of square as seen in the pictures. I have not found any cracks or holes in the brass housing that should not be there. Both lights have pull strings to turn lights on and off without unplugging. Both have old two prong style plugs. The oil lamp bases are original aside from the electrical retrofitting that took place. There is some soldering and repair work on bulb housing but it cant be seen unless yo

I do not see any name on the lantern. There are no dents on the lantern. Front screw opening. The front has the word PORT. The light is heavy red glass. Not plastic. There is no interior piece that lights the lantern. The glass has come loose and the metal frame has separated in the corner but all of this can be fixed. Could use a cleaning/polishing. For its age. You are bidding on the two original cast brass nautical bulkhead lights shown in the above photos. Each light weighs about 5 1/2 pounds. From the top of the wall mount to the bottom of the cage it measures about 10 inches tall. When mounted to the wall it will extend out from the wall by 6 1/2 inches. The wall mount measures 3 5/8 inches in diameter. The glass globes are free of any cracks. The lights have been totally rewired with all new UL-Listed parts rated for any voltage of 250 volts or less. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 75 watts or less. This light ... morecan be used for interior or exterior projects. The cage screws on and off by hand to access the bulb. These lights have been polished. But they have a weathered look as seen in the photos. The globes might need some cleaning. This is the real deal. And we will ship you the lights shown in the above photos!
