Yes. patina and silver paint of the past. 13" Bottom flange to the top. 4"5/8" Dia across cap not including the spots of the bolts. 9-S-4326-L Number on lid. Looks to be made of aluminum. Added 4 pictures of the lens. For you to check out. Clear lens looks to be in really good condition. No cracks that we can see. Red lens has a crack in it and no chips just the crack. 2 Vintage Lights & 1 Horn Boats, Nautical, Parts or Restoration, Casco, Japan
I really know nothing about these other than they came from the estate of a person who owned a marina and they might be nautical. I believe they are lights and a horn for boats. I have no idea if any of them work and have no way of testing. Following are the descriptions: The larger or longer light with the plastic handle is a total of approx. 16 1/2" long. There is rust on the metal bar. The chrome has vertigris and bubbling, there are a couple of dents in the metal part that holds the bulb, the ring that holds the bulb in has vertigris and rust. The metal part is stamped around the top edge Casco Prod Corporation, Bridgeport Conn. USA, Model J. The handle on it is some sort of a rubbery plastic and there are two closed cracks, one on the side and one on the end. There is a little switch of the same material and it does slide back and ... moreforth. It has an art deco look to it. The smaller or shorter light measures approx. 12" long. It has vertigris and some paint. There is a small 3/4" split in the edge of the metal part that holds the bulb, the gasket that holds the bulb in has a 1/2" piece missing. There is a knob on the end that unscrews. I found no marks on this one other than the light bulb that is marked GE. The horn is 18" long total. It has vertigris and bubbling on the chrome. There is a 1" dent in the cup part and there is paint on the mounts. It has a wire cover in the end of the horn. The mount is marked Made in Japan 12V. I tried a magnet on these and the only places that it sticks is where there appears to be rods and parts underneath the outer metal. All of these are dirty. The wiring is dried out& cracking and I have no idea if they work. This auction is for parts or restoration only. Auction is as is where is with no returns. The base has three mount holes that are about 2 1/2 inches off the center of the light. The globes are glass and in good condition. Each light weighs almost 5 pounds. You can access the bulb area by unscrewing the cage and then unscrewing the glass globe. The glass is undamaged. But could use some additional cleaning. The cage and the glass globe screw on and off with little effort. Each light has been totally rewired with all new UL-Listed parts rated for any ... morevoltage of 250 volts or less. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 100 watts or less. This is an interesting item and I don't know much about it. The light appears to be some kind of a navy ship light and it looks older than the cord on it so maybe it was rehabbed but I do not know. We plugged it in and it emits a very faint light and I think the glass may be red but I am not sure. The lights are just as I received them. They are salvage. I don't know what type of ship they came from. I have not cleaned them or opened them. They are good shape all glass in tacked. I cant say they if work or not. I can find no markings on them. It could be marked but I cant find it. Some rust as you can see and some dust. 2 Vintage Brass RUSSELL& STOLL NY Explosion Proof Lights- PURPLE GLASS GLOBES: Up for auction is a fantastic set of 2 vintage industrial lights which I rediscovered recently in a basement which had been untouched for over 50 years. Along with these two lights. I found 8 addition vintage explosion proof ceiling lights which I will be listing in the near future so please be sure to check back often. These 2 explosion proof lights were made and are clearly marked RUSSELL& STOLL CO. NEW YORK which is embossed on the top of the brass metal fixtures. Attached to the heavy brass fixtures(which were painted silver/ grey at one point in time) are the stunning purple glass globes. These two lights obviously once hung outside or directly in the sunlight because the maganese in the glass has oxidized over many years with the exposure to the suns ... moreUV radiation. Both thick glass globes have a perfect light tinted purple coloration to them and both of the glass globes are in excellent condition given their age having no cracks or chips in the globes themselves(other than a couple of small flea bites around the base which cannot be seen once screwed into place) and the threading on the glass allows the globes to screw into place easily and tightly without any wiggle room in their brass fixtures. Although the two lights are very similar in size and shape, there are a couple of very small differences between the two including the bulb fixtures(one is marked: BRYANT 660W 250V PAT'D NOV. 26, 1907) and the mounting brackets. I have not tampered with these two lights but I have taken them apart(as shown throughout my photographs) so that you can inspect the overall condition of each light. I have gently cleaned the interior& exterior of each of these lights so the winning bidder will receive very clean items but please keep in mind that I have not tested these lights for their working condition. The bulbs that are currently with the lights are the ones which were found with them(one being an earlier National Mazda bulb)
