Both pieces have been refinished, but missing veneer work was not done, so, as you can see in pics 4& 8 there is slight edge veneer loss at the front side corners. In pic 5 you can barely see that the veneer has been re-glued. There are a few nicks here and there, and there are hardware circles around a couple of the drawer pulls, where the handles have been rotated and made a circle in the wood around. The hardware, as well as the design, makes this piece much more eye catching, with steel pulls and horizontal rosewood tips on each pull. This piece measures 54" x 32" x 18" deep. There are 6 drawers. Shipping will be done via freight or local pick up. If you live near Orlando(32804)I can deliver for free. If you live outside of Orlando please message me for a fuel charge. A couple of coats of lacquer could be added to give it a more vibrant look if desired, but I personally like the mellow finish. The dresser has white and gray grained round corner marble top with the insert in the center, raised burl panels on the drawers, big circular buttons on the middle of the large drawers, Victorian tear drop pulls, candle shelves on the mirror, applied carvings, burl panels and a beautifully carved fancy crest. Antique Walnut Dresser w/Mirror and 3 Tier Marble Tops
This stunning circa 1900's hand crafted walnut dresser is certainly a work of art. It measures: 43" wide X 20" Deep X 83" high from floor to top of mirror. With beautiful burl work and the impeccable marble tops accents this master-craftsman produced dresser would grace any home. Condition is absolutely outstanding with the exception of one missing part of one of the drawer pulls. I am trying to find a replacement. But have not had much luck so far. A beautiful. Solid walnut, antique, dresser-top mirror. Originally made as a men's shaving mirror. The mirror can spin 360 degrees and is designed to be able to move so you can see yourself while standing or sitting. Dimensions of just the mirror: 21 1/2" H/ 15" W. Dimensions of the entire item: 25" H/ 22" W. The base is 22" long and 7" wide. Very few nicks or scratches and is in excellent condition for being over 100 years old. Circa early 1900 French Louis Philippe burl walnut veneer commode with marble surface top, 3 sided marble splash and fully hinged drop down top, when closed conceals the marble. Has inset single pane. Flat glass mirror on the underside of the top. The commode has four full width drawers with wood keyholes. Commode is complete with one working key. Which works as a pull to help open the drawers. Original key is available but broken. Owner purchased in 1984 in Paris. France. Size is 31" wide, 18" deep, 35 ½" tall. This is a really nice old Eastlake Victorian dresser. It is in remarkably good condition. The drawers have the pegged scolloped rabbet joint very typical of the 1870's. The drawer bottoms are all original and in good condition. The top drawer which got a lot more use than the other drawers was worn on the bottom so its sides have been added onto to make them the proper size. The knobs have been replaced. But there is just one hole in the drawer indicating that the original pulls were single knobs. More pictures can be made available upon request for such things as I just described. This dresser is 98 inches tall to the top of the mirror. The dresser base is 26 inches tall to the top of the marble and it is 46 inches wide. The depth from front to back is 20-1/2 inches. 1800's Walnut Tilting Shaving Mirror for Top Of Dresser
Here is a very early 1800's wooden shaving mirror. It is tiltable. I think the wood is walnut. Kind of looks like burled walnut on the mirror. The glass is in good shape. May have a little play in the mirror frame holding the glass. Could be removed and made tighter but it's not going to fall out. The frame does have a few places where the wood cracked over the year and has been glued back in place. One small piece of veneer missing on the side and its about an inch long half inch wide. Not noticeable since it's on the side. There is one small spot on the top of the mirror frame where it looks like the wood started to splinter and its been patched with some putty at one time. Very nice turned spindles holding the mirror. Up for sale is this great Antique marble top dresser it stands over 7 feet tall with the mirror connected to it. It is about 43 inches wide and about 20 inches deep. It has a stunning mirror all complete and not broken. Its flaws are a crack in the marble top but was fixed at some point in itslife so it is one solid piece of marble just re glued back together. What a sweet chest of drawers. Salesmans sample, circa 1850. Made of Walnut secondary wood pine. It measures 9 inches tall 9 1/2 inches wide 5 3/4 deep The chest has a water stain on the top. I have never tried to bleach it out. It looks to have been finished in the past. The rear of one of the drawers looks like it had been nibbled on. In it's past, see photo. I have owned it for 25 years purchased it from an estate in Maine. You can see in the photo that they did a repair to the top left corner of the top drawer Patched with care but the oppisit corner has a chip yet to be fixed. The case has three short drawers over two long drawers, with the original brass pulls. The drawer interiors are maple. Light burl walnut veneers across the drawers. The sides have a recessed panel. A finely mottled brown and white beveled marble slab is on top. The mirror frame is supported with a frame of deep carved classical cornice having acanthus, drapped swag, and serpentine ribbon. The mirror frame support measures 4'9" 57" tall by 3'7" 43" wide by 3" deep, the mirror glass 29" by 27-1/2" The dresser measures 3'8" 44" wide by 2'4" 28" tall by 20" deep. Fine Eastlake Victorian Chestnut & Walnut Drop Center Dresser
Up for auction is a Victorian drop center dresser. It is special in that it is made of American Chestnut. A species that was wiped out by chestnut blight- very few mature specimens exist today. The dresser is in good condition, with the exception of a small repair(pictured) and some dings from someone's overzealous hammer use. The original beveled mirror is in good shape with some streaking as expected for a 130+year old mirror. The dresser would be a great accent piece, or could be converted to a sink basin. VICTORIAN Burl Walnut Wishbone Mirror DRESSER& Gentleman's CHEST This elegant Victorian drop front Wishbone Mirror dresser chest and matching Ladies' or Gentleman's chest is constructed of walnut with burl accents. The style is consistent with the period of"Renaissance Revival. Ca. 1860. They both have the original finish, wooden casters and working antique keys. These pieces feature Renaissance Revival/ Rococo elements including serpentine ribbed"carpenter's lace" on the edges and around the dresser's tilt mirror. They have applied hand carved drawer pulls. Escutcheons and other decorative elements in a leaf and flower design. The corners and edges are rounded. And the casings around the drawers and most edges are curved and double or triple ribbed. The dresser has a wishbone tilt mirror on pedestal ... morebase. Handkerchief drawers and three large drawers. There are turned finials on the mirror posts and spindles on the sides of the handkerchief drawers. The three large drawers lock. The chest has an upper cabinet with shelf. Probably for hats or bonnets, one small drawer possibly for gloves and another larger drawer at the bottom. The top part of the cabinet features cathedral shaped burled panel doors that close with a hook on the inside and a lock. The drawers do not lock. Measurements: Dresser- 42" W x 20" D x 42" to top of small drawers x 77" H Chest- 34" W x 16" D x 44" H The overall condition is very good considering the age. One spindle on the dresser's outer left handkerchief drawer has a missing part of about 1/2 inch. There are minor cracks on the sides.
