These lustre candlesticks are probably French or Bohemian and were made in the mid to late 19thC. These candlesticks are made of a light green opaline glass and are very finely cut with a diamond pattern and are also faceted. Each of the candlesticks are hand blown with ground and polished pontils. On each of the candlesticks necks there are 7 holes for hanging prisms. This is a very fine pair of lustre candlesticks that are very similar in quality to Baccarat. Each candlestick stands 12 1/8" tall and have a diameter of 4 3/4" There are no chips. Vintage depression glass black amethyst candlestick - unknown maker
Up for your consideration is an old beautiful art-deco candlestick or candle holder made of black amethyst glass. This piece is between 2" and 2 1/4" tall and about 4 1/4" across the base. There are three decorative"feet" and painted dots in red. Yellow, and green creating a flower and leave design on the base. Some of the paint dots have worn off and although I've seen these where the dots have been completely(well, they thought they were totally removed. but they weren't) taken off. I think that there are enough of the dots that are still intact that the design is still attractive and adds to the appearance of this depression glass piece. Vintage Candlestick Holder Pair Pink Glass Hand Painted 1930s
From an estate. Lovely old pair of hand painted candlestick holders. They measure 3-1/4" tall with a base diameter of about 4-1/4" The base is clear glass, the holder itself is pale pink. The floral painting is in excellent condition but there is some scratching and loss to the gold trim paint. In my opinion, however, it is not excessive considering their age which I believe to be circa 1930s. I am uncertain of the maker but I did find a similar pair on an antiques site that identified the maker as Indiana Glass. There are no actual chips or cracks. BUT. PLEASE NOTE: there is a triangular crack on one of the holders that I believe is a manufacturing flaw as it seems to be inside the glass. It is near the top and I have shown it in the seventh and eighth photos. It would hardly be noticeable with candles but you should know that ... moreit is there. Here is a very classic pair of 8-sided chamberstick holders for taper candles. The holders have 8 sides both on the base and on the top where the candles fit in. The handles really add to the style. I do not know the maker of them as they are not marked and came from an auction. Nor do I know the age other than they are old. Size: 2 1/2" tall. 4 1/2" base point to point, 1 7/8" top point to point, and a 7/8" round opening for the candle. VERY UNIQUE- Pair 7 1/2" Antique Handblown Art Glass Candlesticks- Candle Holders! These interesting candlesticks were gifts to my mother back in the 1930's. They were in an antique shop in North Carolina that was owned by my Great Aunt and Uncle. These candlesticks are unique. They feature a'swirl of glass' at the base. Both have unique glass'bumps' on the sides and each has a glass'hook' near the top. The glass is thick when you look down into the top. I think they look like trees with bumpy outsides and swirling roots. Mom thought they looked like melting candles. In my amateur research I could not find another pair like them and neither could the collectors I consulted. The candlesticks are about 7 1/2 inches tall. They are about 3 inches wide at the base and 1 inch across without the'hook' 1 1/2" ... morewith the hook. CONDITION- The candlesticks are in very good antique condition with no cracks or breaks and all of the bumps and hooks are intact except for one chip on the base.
