Up for auction is a Cut Glass Perfume Bottle ot Decanter with a Hallmarked ... moreSterling Silver Lid. I am not good with hallmarks but I have taken a photos for you. The lid is huge and beutifully decorated. The hinge works perfectly and the sterling lid is secure to the bottle. The inside of the lid still retains it's nice gold wash. There is a dent to the lid as you will see in the photos. The bottle is free of chips. Cracks& repairs. However, whatever liquid used to be stored in this bottle has left a residue to the top 1/4 of the bottle. It has also left the rest of the bottle with an slightly iridescent cast to it. Very strange but you will see what I mean in the photos. This is one of those bottles you almost pass up but then just due to it's size and lovely details in the lid and cut glass you decide it's worth the trouble. I have not attempted to remove the"residue" so perhaps some of it will come off ~ I do not know. I have broken too many a bottle while trying to scrub them up. So now just a light dusting and if they are presentable- I leave the major cleaning to you. The bottle is heavy and I imagine just the silver lid alone would be worth a bit of money. The lid is 2 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches across at the widest. Shoot. Just the lid is as big as some sterling silver bottles alone! The total height of the bottle(lid& glass) is 6 1/4 inches tall and the width across the widest part is 3 1/2 inches. Just so you know what a conversation piece it is.when my daughter asked what used to be in the bottle I told her it was probably"the potion of some Mad Victorian Era Scientist.maybe Frankenstien himself" I couldn't resist having a little fun at her expense. The salt lid looks like someone couldn't open it, and used some sort of tool to grip the lid, causing little dents on opposite sides of the lid, just above the threads. The salt shaker also has a couple of very tiny flakes at the edge of the base, and the pepper shaker has a little bump just above the bottom, which occurred in the molding of the glass. These shakers were molded, then cut, and there are several very tiny imperfections in the making, which can be seen with close examination using a magnifying glass. Some of these are shown in the photographs, but they are hard to see. If you have any questions. Or need more information, please don't hesitate to ask before bidding. VINTAGE GLASS CANDELABRA WITH TWO BOBESHES AND 16~ 2-PART PRISMS I don't know if this is Fostoria glass or not because I'm not a glass expert. But it looks like Fostoria according to the other pictures I've seen of Fostoria glass. It does not appear to be signed. There are two Bobeshes and 16~2-part Prisms, all in great shape and removable. The top prism is in an octagon shape with a pointed back. The Candelabra measures 10" at the widest point by ~8" tall. As near as I can tell, it dates between 1900-1940. VINTAGE PAIR OF CUT CRYSTAL IN BRASS CANDLE VOTIVES / VASES
This is pair of vintage cut crystal set in decorative brass cnadle votives or perhaps small vases? They are very old and not with out minor flaws. First of all the larger one(4 inches in diameter by 3 1/2 inches tall) has a small abrasion to the edge of the crystal on one spot. You can feel it when you rub your finger around the edge. I tried to photograph it for you. It is not like a chip or crack but a rough edge. The smaller one(3 inches by 3 1/2) does not have that but you can see a rim of silicone(visible only on the bottom) connecting the crystal to the brass stand. There is no residue on the sides. These are. Without a doubt, the MOST BEAUTIFUL BLUE glass taper holders I have EVER seen! They are part of our aunt's estate and have been on display in her china hutch for as long as I can remember.
