They don't appear to be handpainted, it looks more like a decal. One base has a small chip/flea bite. The inside rims of top of lamp is somewhat sharp, maybe a fleabite or two, is on inside. I removed the bulk of the wax but there is still residue that I will leave for you to scrape/wash out. There is tiny chip on both bases. And a small chip on one of the shades. This auction is for a lovely pair of turn-of-the-century fairy lamps by the Diamond Candle Company of Brooklyn. N.Y. Included are an opaline and a ruby shade, both with a beaded panel pattern. The customary roughness around the openings is a little more significant on these shades, but there are no chips or cracks anywhere else on them. The base has a fair amount of rust, as shown in pictures. When assembled, the fairy lamp measures approximately 6.25" tall. The underside of the base is stamped Diamond Candle Co. Brklyn N.Y. as is the bottom rim of each shade.

VICTORIAN GLASS CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTS Hanging Fairy Lamps WHITE MILK GLASS
These white milk glass candle holders are in excellent original condition. The first one was pressed into a two part mold. It has the Diamond Lattice pattern. The top has not been ground smooth. So it looks chipped, but is just very rough. If you look at it straight on, and turn it, you will notice that one side is just a little flat.not as full as the other side. I believe the hanging wire is original. It is 3 1/2" high and 1 3/4" in diameter. There are no chips, or cracks. The second one is a three part mold. Tumbler shaped with hobnails around the top and the bottom has a rosette rayed from the center. It is 3" high by 1 3/4" in diameter. There is one small chip on the inside top edge. This one seems to have had a very specific use. One side is embossed with a fleur de lis design. And the other side is embossed with"For ... moreBurnt Matches" I assume that it was hung on the tree and used to hold the used matches after lighting the fairy lamps. These Victorian glass Christmas light holders. Sometimes called fairy lamps were made in various colors and shapes. Some(like these) held oil and floating wicks, and some were made for candles. These could have used either one. I believe that these were made about 1850-1880. Expert collectors are always welcome to correct my descriptions. The oil lamps each measure approx. 12" x 4 1/4" and appear to either be a different manufacturer or date. As one is a heavier glass and the design seems more detailed. The only noticed signs of use are the burnt tops of the wicks. The metal shows minor discoloration from age, and the thinner glass lamp has one small chip on a star on the shade. Lot of 5 Miniature Fluid Lamps and time lamp 1800's fairy lamp Antique NR
Great lot of 5 miniature fluid lamps. I lightened up the 3rd photo to see the pat. date of 1883 on bottom. The blue is a very very dark cobalt blue and you couldn't read the date on the photo so i really lightened it up. All are in great shape. I see no chips or cracks or breaks. There is some air bubbles in one of the bases. The 2 photos next to the last one. That glass has that purplish tint to it and all the glass on these little lamps is really thick. I don't know much about these really, but I figured I would sell them together.These are all from the 1800's
