They are hollow and are completely sealed up and are some times refered to as floating candle holders I havent tried to float them. 19th Century Hand blown And Etched Crystal Candle Holder
From my parents estate. This is a hand blown blown crystal candle holder. You can see on the bottom. Where it was removed from the rod it was blown on. The etching was done by hot needle and by hand. There is a crack in one of the candle holder, but it is secure and will not break from using it. Someone let a candle melt until it was gone. They must have forgotten to blow out the candle, before it reached the hole. Glass or crystal will break with heat. Luckily this cracked in the inside of the glass, you can not feel the crack, there are no rough edges. This was made by my great grandfather, in the mis 1800's. it is authentic! It is stunning! It would make a great center piece for a table. It is approx. 8" from candle holder to candle holder and approx. 7" tall. VERY UNIQUE- Pair 7 1/2" Antique Handblown Art Glass Candlesticks- Candle Holders! These interesting candlesticks were gifts to my mother back in the 1930's. They were in an antique shop in North Carolina that was owned by my Great Aunt and Uncle. These candlesticks are unique. They feature a'swirl of glass' at the base. Both have unique glass'bumps' on the sides and each has a glass'hook' near the top. The glass is thick when you look down into the top. I think they look like trees with bumpy outsides and swirling roots. Mom thought they looked like melting candles. In my amateur research I could not find another pair like them and neither could the collectors I consulted. The candlesticks are about 7 1/2 inches tall. They are about 3 inches wide at the base and 1 inch across without the'hook' 1 1/2" ... morewith the hook. CONDITION- The candlesticks are in very good antique condition with no cracks or breaks and all of the bumps and hooks are intact except for one chip on the base. Up for auction is a very rare set of two early 1930s Hand Blown Crystal Candle Holders. I have the original box but there was 4 and now only 2 so it will save you $ on shipping to use a separate box. These appear like it says in the original paperwork that they may contain some manufacturer lines or bubbles but seem to have 0 human defects. These are so rare in this condition and if they don't sell I will probably keep them. Once they get a bath they will shine and sparkle. They come with one extra round O ring to hold it in place wherever you choose to place them. They even have some of the original paperwork which is cool.
