Wonderful Pair Antique MERCURY GLASS Candle Holders This is a wonderful matched pair of old silvered glass candlesticks. Each is mould-blown and silvered with mercury inside. The outside has an embossed leaf pattern and the neck is fitted with a tin collar into which fits a taper-type candle. Each measures 4" high and 3 1/8" across. The pair is in excellent condition for its age. With some de-silvering of the lining and a few dark spots, but no chips or cracks. It's a great old pair with timeless appeal. Domestically. Thanks for looking at my auctions! Here we have 2 Vintage old blown glass pieces with Rhinestones. Each has a different shape& you can tell they are hand blown. I'm not 100% sure but I think someone added the rhinestones later on. Of course they were added after they were blown.I think someone else beesides the maker did it,but have no idea! I don't know how old or the maker of them. I do think they are very old though,but not sure. They are different sizes but are made allmost 100% exactly the same. They have a lip on the inside. I have no idea about glass blowing but I'm sure they are authentic just by looking at them& the ends of each,etc. One has a tiny chip in it also. Please check pics,I took plenty of them. One has no chips or cracks. The bigger one has a chip/crack in it at the same spot. The chip has been there ... moresince I've owned them which has been close to 5 years now. I am much more certain that they were purchased at Hudson's sometime in or around the 1960s. The rest is how they look- which is gorgeous. I can't take a good picture of them to save my life. PAIR 71/2" Antique Elegant Hand Blown Art Glass Clear Candlestick Candle Holders
VERY UNIQUE- Pair 7 1/2" Antique Handblown Art Glass Candlesticks- Candle Holders! These interesting candlesticks were gifts to my mother back in the 1930's. They were in an antique shop in North Carolina that was owned by my Great Aunt and Uncle. These candlesticks are unique. They feature a'swirl of glass' at the base. Both have unique glass'bumps' on the sides and each has a glass'hook' near the top. The glass is thick when you look down into the top. I think they look like trees with bumpy outsides and swirling roots. Mom thought they looked like melting candles. In my amateur research I could not find another pair like them and neither could the collectors I consulted. The candlesticks are about 7 1/2 inches tall. They are about 3 inches wide at the base and 1 inch across without the'hook' 1 1/2" ... morewith the hook. CONDITION- The candlesticks are in very good antique condition with no cracks or breaks and all of the bumps and hooks are intact except for one chip on the base. They were used long ago(wax residue in cup) and then stored for decades. Their provenance is unknown. But they were part of an estate of considerable quality and value.
