The sterling candle holders are weighted and feature a simple but elegant rope edge design. When in use as a compote/ candy dish be sure to support from the base as the glass bowls have a very loose fit. Laben had produced a line of different serving pieces featuring a sterling base and the same pattern cut glass. But the pattern was discontinued in the 1960's. The sterling candle holder do show some age appropriate surface scratches along with tarnish and several nicks along the bottom edge(see picture 4. 5, 6& 7) Also note; the top part of the candle holder sits loosely on the base. Measurements are approx. 2 5/8" in diameter at the base. 2 1/4" in height not including the glass bowl. The glass bowls measure approx. 6" in diameter and when sitting on top the candle holder measure approx. 4" in height. Be sure to look closely at all the pictures since they are a very important part of the overall description and allow you to evaluate the condition of the item. This is a pair of two beautiful green glass candle holders featuring decorative etched bases. The candlesticks measure approximately 4 1/4" across X 3 1/4" high. They are clear. Green glass in very good condition with no chips or cracks. I am not an expert on glassware but I believe these candle holders are depression era glass. There is a piece of tape on the bottom of one that is labeled with handwriting that is difficult to read. I can see a date on the label of" 6-5-29" I realize this is not proof of age but I believe the candlesticks are at least as old as 1929. For sale is a pair of very cool goofus glass candle holders. These red and silver glass pieces are reverse painted and have a pattern of fruit and leaves at the base. They are made to hold a single taper candle. Each measures approximately 7 3/4" in diameter and 1 3/4" deep measured at the highest point to the base. There are etched flowers on 2 sides of the columns and a stem with leaves on the other two sides. There are tiny air bubbles and a few larger bubbles. Some straw marks, all indicative of old glass. The faint green glow that many old glasses have under a black light due to the manganese. An additive to stop oxidation from the iron in the glass. Very old glass yes. But not glowing enough to call them Vaseline. Three part molded glass depression green Canary Yellow glass candle holders for your mantle or dressing table lamps. Beautiful as found might need a polishing or shining up. The tops appear to be frosted the base and round prism luster holder is more of a clear green. A few minor hardly worth mentioning dings, not sure if they are from the mold or in the making process as so many were from EAPG glass.
