This candelabra set is in very nice condition without any chips or cracks on the candle holders or bobeches. I did notice maybe a tiny chip or two on the spears. It has all of the original spears but not the octagon prisms. Two of the replaced octagon prisms I think might be crystal. Have newer wire hooks, and one prism is missing. I was able to hang the one spear with the missing prism on so you don't really notice that anything is missing. There is etching on the base of the candelabras. I don't know how old or their maker. They were picked up at an estate sale. I believe all of the pieces are glass and not crystal even though ... moreit is about as showy and sparkly as crystal. Both are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips on the bases. Bobeches, or prisms. The design features criss-crossed swirls, reminiscent of waves on the ocean. Each holder has 2 bobeches& 6 prisms on each bobeche. They measures about 10" wide and 7-1/2" tall with the bobeches in place. They are not marked. The bases are solid glass, not hollow, so they are very heavy and stable. An exceptionally nice set of candlesticks holders, very elegant! You can bid with confidence. These can also be used without the bobeches and prisms for a more casual setting. These came from the estate of a woman who used them very rarely and took great care of them. They are in excellent condition with NO chips or cracks though there are slightly rough edges aound the scallopped base which is characteristic to this era of glass making as this was caused from removing from the molds and to be considered imperfections. Beautiful Fostoria "Romance" Double Candelabra
Up for bids is this double candelabra in the ever popular and dainty Romance pattern. Manufactured by Fostoria. Of all of the beautiful glassware patterns produced, I have always thought this one was the most attractive especially as a pattern for a new bride to begin collecting. The ribbons, bows and flowers etched on the glass make it feminine and beautiful for an accent piece to a place setting for an afternoon tea or ladies luncheon. This piece is in excellent condition with no evidence of use. No scratches or abrasions or chips or fleabites. I am selling this because I discovered another popular glassware pattern.
