Vintage Candlesticks Holders Pair Pink Depression Glass Hand Painted 1930s
From an estate. Lovely old pair of hand painted candlestick holders. They measure 3-1/4" tall with a base diameter of about 4-1/4" The base is clear glass, the holder itself is pale pink. The floral painting is in excellent condition but there is some scratching and loss to the gold trim paint. In my opinion, however, it is not excessive considering their age which I believe to be circa 1930s. I am uncertain of the maker but I did find a similar pair on an antiques site that identified the maker as Indiana Glass. There are no actual chips or cracks. BUT. PLEASE NOTE: there is a triangular crack on one of the holders that I believe is a manufacturing flaw as it seems to be inside the glass. It is near the top and I have shown it in the seventh and eighth photos. It would hardly be noticeable with candles but you should know that ... moreit is there. VERY UNIQUE- Pair 7 1/2" Antique Handblown Art Glass Candlesticks- Candle Holders! These interesting candlesticks were gifts to my mother back in the 1930's. They were in an antique shop in North Carolina that was owned by my Great Aunt and Uncle. These candlesticks are unique. They feature a'swirl of glass' at the base. Both have unique glass'bumps' on the sides and each has a glass'hook' near the top. The glass is thick when you look down into the top. I think they look like trees with bumpy outsides and swirling roots. Mom thought they looked like melting candles. In my amateur research I could not find another pair like them and neither could the collectors I consulted. The candlesticks are about 7 1/2 inches tall. They are about 3 inches wide at the base and 1 inch across without the'hook' 1 1/2" ... morewith the hook. CONDITION- The candlesticks are in very good antique condition with no cracks or breaks and all of the bumps and hooks are intact except for one chip on the base.
