The reason why it was called that is that the ... moreover length mirror in the center allowed the lady of the house to see the full bustle of her dress. This one looks like an oversize drop center. Dating from the 1870s, it has burl panels all over, hand carved crest on the very top, five different style shapely mirrors, rose quartz on the drop center and two top columns, four small drawers, one large drawer on the base and a hidden drawer on the very bottom. The burl panels are all picture frame molded on the drawers and on the inside of the drop center. It has oversize candle shelves. In my over 50 years in the business, I don’t believe I have owned this model even though I have had my share of drop center dressers.

The white marble has an ogee bevel edge. It has brass cast hardware. It has a center medallion on the large drawer. The hidden drawer on the base is extra deep and has a burl walnut accent face. There is a slight cup where it likely sat uneven (1/8” dip) on each side. It is likely that you won’t notice, but I wanted to be upfront about it. I don’t like to always say this, but it resembles a piece from Horner although I don’t believe it to be made by Horner. It is certainly a high-end quality piece. It has an extra heavily 1.25 bevel edge mirror that swivels and is in good condition. The mirror is wrapped around by a solid brown mahogany frame with carvings all the way around, rope twist going up and the very top corners having angels carved in both sides. The base has a beautiful rose quartz bevel edge marble top. The miniature knobs on the base look like miniature doorknobs.

Charming Antique Victorian Dresser - PRICE REDUCTION!

Antique Victorian Drop Center Marble Top Dresser w/ Pivot Mirror
A very cute little dresser brought up from Georgia to the Asheville NC area 20 years ago. Judging from the style and the candle shelves on either side. Late 19th Century. Features the original marble. Clean and unbroken, the original antique mirror, all of the original drawer pulls of figured brass, and the original casters. Original finish- has not been stripped. Stands about 80 inches high and 16 inches deep- it is a smallish piece and stands nice and shallow out from the wall- perfect for a small guest room or an accent to a large room. I'm not certain. But the wood is probably walnut. The five drawers all work just fine and have unusual'round peg dovetailing' construction(shown above in a detail shot) The hardware is ALL original EXCEPT that the bolts that originally held the pivoting mirror have been replaced by heavy screws. ... moreWhich doesn't affect the look of it too much(and they could be fairly inexpensively restored with something vintage) The mirror section is removable to facilitate moving. A very handsome piece. With minimal scratches and wear. The hand-carved details are a bit on the rustic side and not terribly fussy or'polished' workmanship. Almost folk arty. It is a solid piece and nice and usable still, with a decidedly'country' feel to it. The piece is actually quite light once the drawers are pulled out for transport and is not too heavy to lift at all. I love the carved details and personality of the thing! I do not want to ship it if I can help it- would prefer local sale. We live in Mars Hill. North Carolina, just 20 minutes from Asheville and easy directions to find us. I can help move it as well. And I can show the piece in advance of sale- send a message. This bureau belonged to my grandmother. Unfortunately. I do not have space for it any longer. I believe this is"Victorian Eastlake" It is in very good original condition with original hardware. Sold as is. No one has painted, refinished or otherwise tampered with it. There was never a mirror from the time my grandmother acquired it. Local pick-up only! Dimensions are: 51 inches wide. 19 inches front to back and 33 inches at the tallest point. It is a large piece and heavy but the side sections with small drawers and the marble pieces come off for moving. Probably best to have a van or large-ish SUV to move it.

Antique Victorian Era Dresser With Triple Mirrors
This dresser has two top drawers and two lower drawers in the base. Plus two small drawers atop the base. It has a center mirror and two side, arched mirrors making it quite distinctive. The mirrors are beveled and show signs of aging. The veneer has wear, which is age appropriate. The hardware all appears to be original. The four legs have castors, which also appear to be original. The intricate carving detail across the top makes this dresser truly unique and charming. Rare Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Cottage vanity dresser
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian Renaissance Revival Cottage dresser. Very old and cool. Pictures don't do it justice. Its 81 inches tall, 38 and 1/2 across and 17 and 1/4 out from the wall. Has four big drawers and two glove boxes on top, along with two candle shelves that are on either side of the mirror. The mirror glass was replaced in the 1970s but it tilts and is adjustable. Has worn spots but thats to be expected after over a hundred years. There is a little bit of water marking on the bottom of one of the sides but barely noticeable and easily fixed. Mirror is newer and in good shape but could be secure in place more as it rattles in place a bit with strong movement. I put a small piece of cardboard behind original wood strap and thats easily stopped it. I think it was refinished long ago and is a nice looking piece. This is an Antique Late 1800's Victorian Natural Tone Oak Dresser with Original Brass Drawer Pulls and Key Locks/ Hardware. 44.5 inches wide x 33 inches tall x 19.5 inches deep. Has 4 dovetail drawers and metal caster wheels. Key to the locks is unavailable. The lower drawer bottom has been replaced. All drawers are opening and closing properly. Item is structurally sound for it's age. Caster wheels are all rolling. Top back right corner has a slight warp on the tabletop with separation and a small crack. Shouldn't be a problem for most. Beautiful antique Victorian or Eastlake dresser vanity. Marble tops are ivory in color and in good shape. Original ebony drawer pulls. All 4 drawers pull nicely with unique dovetail work. There is also a secret bonus drawer at the bottom that goes unnoticed. The mirror has some silvering in it. Burl wood inlays throughout. Minor wear to be found in places. But nothing terrible. The wood looks to be chestnut, but I am not positive. Great well made piece that will last many more years to come. My apologies for the somewhat awkward photos. Eastlake Victorian walnut dresser was made in late 1800's. The Eastlake movement downplayed the ornate Victorian furniture. This was American made and I was told it was from the New England area. The dresser is in very good condition for its 100 plus years. There is a split in the wood on top of the left handkerchief drawer. Very unique Eastlake drawer pulls.
