Heavy& dense hardwood with a wonderful geometric incised pattern within the"dished" bowl, with a plain worked wood straight section. Hand carved with what looks a little like 1 2. please see pics. I believe this to be ethnographically carved, the wood& decoration has an Australasian or Oceanic look to it, but this is a mystery item. That I know nothing about& we have listed it because of it's curiosity, however. I am sure experts& collectors will recognise exactly what it is& I would appreciate any assistance. please see pics. I do not recognise the wood. But it is incredibly dense& heavy with a beautiful original colour& tone.
