Please read the full listing before bidding* ANTIQUE TRIBAL AFRICAN INDIAN AMERICAN POLYNESIAN CARVED COW BONE HORN TRUMPET? I don't know exactly what this item is or where it is from. I guessed at it being some sort of short horn or trumpet from the shape, but I'm really not sure, please study the images. Overall it is 23cm long and 5cm at the widest point. The handle part is carved bone with applied cabochon turquoise stones. The end piece is carved horn which also once probably had some applied stones, these are now missing. As mentioned above there is some of the applied stone decoration missing. Also a small crack where the horn end joins the bone handle, and also a tiny crack to the bone right near the end or mouth piece. Weigh 147 Grams before packing. A Small Old Inuit Amber & Carved Cow Bone Seal Ornament
This small old carving of a seal I think is at least 40 years old but perhaps a lot older. The base is made of real amber that has great colour with a carved seal above made of cow bone as seen in the photos, I am not certain but think the carving is Inuit in origins from Northern Canada or Greenland perhaps, the carving measures 1.25 inches long and in good condition

Superb Pair of Antique Hand Carved Pipes. Excellent& highly interesting hand carved pair of pipes, with superb carved wood warrior head pipe bowls with incised scarified facial decoration below highly intricate pierced& carved cow bone figural shafts with a continual band of human figures around a long. Straight metal tubular mouthpiece. Please see pics. The carved head bowls are outstanding. With an excellent proud expression& wonderful finish. Please see pics. Both pipes are carved with great skill, with the pierced figural mount expertly carved with individual figures, that appear to be holding their genitals or similar pose, with a fine pigmented patina throughout mounted upon the dark carved wood head pipe bowls below each with metal foil lined rim interiors. Please see pics. detail# 12) Good original. Untouched finish& ... moreexactly as acquired, with a beautiful. Rich, dark patination to the wood& pigment stained carved columns. Please see pics. Both pipes are hand carved to all sides& beautiful from any angle, a genuine pair. One slightly larger than the other to the bowl& it is excellent that they still remain together after all of these years. Please see pics. The long. Straight, narrow metal pipe tubes have rolled ends, these may be the actual mouthpieces or perhaps there was an attachment, but this is exactly as we acquired them, they are fully functional& completely original throughout. Please see pics. Each bowl has a small hole to the bottom that would be covered by the thumb& when the thumb is released. It would give a"rush" of smoke into the mouth. please see pics. I believe that these pipes are very high status items. They look like West African works of art. Possibly Babanki or Bamileke but I am not an expert in ethnographic carvings& they would be worthy of some research. I am sure collectors.
