Entirely intact. A little wear consistent with any household item which is over a century in age. A few minute blemishes typical of handcrafted ancient porcelain of the era– almost indiscernible. Not flawless, but certainly in an excellent state of preservation. DETAIL: A nicely preserved very cute little cosmetic case or jewelry box done in the traditional blue and white porcelain so wonderfully characteristic of late Ming/early Qing Dynasty artwork. The glaze is entirely intact. Vibrant cobalt blue, and the condition of the case is exceptionally good. There are of course a few minor scuffs, marks, dings, etc. As well there are the little blemishes so typical of handcrafted porcelain of the Qing and Ming Dynasties; warts, dimples, pimples and pits; but hardly noticeable except with critical scrutiny. All of the preceding almost unnoticeable and very minor, we’re just playing critic here in the interest of full disclosure. The depiction on the outside on the top of the lid is of three men in an idyllic park setting This is as close to as good as one can reasonably expect of a porcelain box somewhere between one and two centuries old. The glaze is entirely intact, the celadon green underglaze as well as the vibrant cobalt blue, and the condition of the snuff bottle, including the porcelain stopper, is virtually perfect. There is very little of the crackling/crazing of the glaze which so oftentimes afflicts antique porcelain and ceramic finishes. There is of course a little minor wear– we’re not saying it is as when new. But this is as good as one can reasonably expect of a porcelain snuff bottle somewhere around 150 or 200 years old. It’s not perfect, but it is about as close to perfect as you will ordinarily find of an authentic 19th century porcelain snuff bottle like this, and there are no repairs. On offer is this antique reindeer antler spoon from the Sami/Saami people who lived throughout Artic Europe. In Norway, Sweden, Russia, Finland. The spoon dates from the latter half of the 19th.c. It is carved& decorated in black ink, the end of the spoon has been left as the natural antler, it measures 14" 35.5 cm) in length. The spoon has been stored away in a dusty attic& was covered in dust. You couldn't even see the decoration, it will clean up a bit more, the spoon is in good, antique, uncleaned condition, it just has the tip missing off the end of the antler(see photo's) A lovely genuine item.
