It is one of the HARDER TO FIND- SMALL SIZE STATE BOND. The 1870s ... moreBOND from LOUISIANA. In CHOICE UNCIRCULATED condition in my opinion. But you can judge for yourself to make the final decision with the photos above, which you can enlarge. It has the of small portrait of a young child. This was a marketing idea to urge people in Louisiana to invest for their children's future during the post Civil War times when times were both tough and uncertain. It was issued in 1874 while U.S. Grant was the President. After investing an intial payment you could collect 7 1/2 Cents each year as interest and in 1886 you could collect $5. Much like modern US Savings Bonds today. The note is crisp and very clean and a good looking little note. With 4 full corners and it has good color contrast with no missing pieces. There are signs of no use. It has no folds, no edge wear, and it has no tears, or missing pieces, but what it does have edges that were cut by hand. This bond has 4 remaining coupons and no redemption holes. Someone took a near perfect uncirculated bond put it away, now its back! T his is a super nice example of an old monetary instrument especially for a post Civil War item which are often very worn out when they are found. Nice for display. The State Treasurer. E.A. Burke, whose stamped signature appears on the bond stole more than $1,500,000.00 from the state during his 10 year tenure. He was found out and fled the state to Europe and later Honduras. Attached and loose, of Captain Herman G Misajon's encounters in Vietnam. Also attached is a document about him receiving a Bronze Medal for heroically rallying many Vietnamese soldiers to safety. The antique photo album has two broken hinges and some chipping of lacquer on the spine- revealing the wood underneath. This is not a plastic faux-lacquer piece. The backside is textured. An effect of having other liquids in the lacquering process. The hinges can be easily repaired and the lacquer flaws could probably be repaired. Here we have one of the most incredible pieces of American Civil War history that I have had the privilege to enjoy. I recently purchased 1st Lieutenant Francis Stoddard's Civil Way History Collection. An antique dealer in California purchased this bank deposit box full of American Civil War history in 1980. Days later. He closed his shop and moved to Colorado. It got boxed with the rest of his antiques and was just revealed after 33 years weeks ago. This is the history of 1st Lieutenant Stoddard starting in 1956 to his enlistment in the Civil War on Aug. 14. 1960 for 3 years. His discharge on October 3rd, 1964, and parts of his life afterwards with the one of last pieces being his Pension Certificate from the Act of May 11. 1912. Lieutena nt Stoddard was in Company B. 2nd Regiment of the Iowa Calvary. He was stationed in Iowa and in ... moreMemphis. Tennessee area during his enlistment. He was also in charge of the provisions and commissary for approx. 120 men. In a quick summary, there are 8 tin types, one of Lieutenant Stoddard in Uniform with Sword, and one of his on his horse in fancy dress, and 6 others. Also 25 military documents and letters, the penmanship a nd eloquence of speaking from the day is a pleasure to read. There are also relevant books and a copy of Lieutenants Stoddard's 1965 Chap man's Map of Iowa. I was born and raised in No rtheast Iowa and this map blew me away. Looks like mostly waterways and a few wagon trails is all. This alone is an incredibly rare find. I only opened it once for the photos. There is his promotion papers from second lieutenant to first lieutenant, His di scharge and release papers. Oath of Identity papers, 2 Iowa quick claim deeds from just days after his dischar ge. Probably traveling through Iowa back and forth to Tennessee, he found these properties. Affidavit testimony papers from 1866 to help a soldier who nearly went blind get discharged. World War II WW2 Aviator Authentic Vintage Bomber Jacket With Photos Documents You are bidding on an authentic vintage A-2 WW II bomber jacket. SIZE 40. The bomber jacket comes with a scrapbook of photos and other documents pertaining to this airman's flight career. This is a recent estate find and I am selling it as found with no attempts to clean or repair in any way. The leather is amazingly supple for its age. However. The jacket has some damage to the leather on the top part of the collar and the shoulders. The leather is otherwise good except for a few cracks due to aging. There is some damage to the lining at the collar area as well. The breakdown of the leather and lining at the collar area appears to be due to body oil and age. This damage is hardly visible when the jacket is on a heavy coat hanger. A stain is visible on the ... morelining behind the left breast pocket. The cuffs and waistband are in nice condition. The zipper is torn about 2 1/2" on the left side. There is a jagged 1 3/4" hole in the leather next to the zipper at the bottom right of the coat; it does not penetrate both layers. There is a patch missing on the right sleeve; an outline of the patch remains. Using this is a guide, this this patch would easily be replaced if desired. There is a leather breast patch on the left side with the name, rank, flight wings and letters USAF impressed into the leather. The letters in and insignia are worn but readable. Note the government patch in the upper inside back of the jacket. See picture. Also included in the auction is a personal scrapbook with items such as but not limited to registration certification. Notice of classification, order to report, basic training record, immunization record, and many photographs. One photograph shows the airman in this jacket. A historic document From a member of the crew of the British Private Ship of War Terrible. This Privateer had an illustrious career against the American colonies during the Revolutionary War. Defeating and taking as prizes the Privateer Ship Cadwallader and Marlborough of the Massachusetts State Navy and the Privateer Minerva of the Rhode Island State Navy. The Terrible carried twenty guns mounted. Carrying nine-pound shot, twenty brass patereroes, four mortars, and some wall-pieces, was 250 feet long and had a crew of 130 and was commanded by Samuel Ayers. The documents offered all pertain to various members of the Terrible's. They include; A letter of indemnification from Robert Bagwell taking responsiblity for a prize dividend due his sister on behalf of deceased crew member Robert Murray. Dr. West was presented with the Conservation Service Award(CSA) by the United States Department of Interior. The CSA was awarded for Dr. West’s effort in recovering and preserving stolen items from the Thomas A. Edison Museum. Items that were stolen were hand-written notes by Edison himself. Dr. West, as well as another gentleman, was instrumental in the recovery of these documents. Additionally, Dr. West served on the board of the Manuscript Society as Treasurer. Samuel Noble King. 1st Lieutenant, Co. A" 26th Illinois Infantry, five documents from the Ordnance Office at the War Department sent to King acknowledging receiving his returns of Ordnance and Ordnance Stores. Three are dated 1864 and two from 1865, from four different officers at the Ordnance Office, two of them have stamped signatures. Very good condition. A few have small separations at some of the folds.

34th Massachusetts Infantry Civil War Rolls Clothing. Etc. from 1864 this is a lot of 9 total Documents. The 34th Mass. was on duty in the Shenandoah Valley during 1864. Rolls and documents are for Company F, they fought at New Market, 2nd Winchester, and Cedar Creek among other battles. These returns were submitted by Charles Elwell, Charles Rowland, George Murdock, and many other members of the company. The 5 documents that aren't Clothing Rolls are in very good condition. The 4 large Clothing Rolls have various rips, edge issues, and tears. 2 of them are in good condition. Two are in poor condition. Posted with

Revolutionary War Leather Wallet Documents Massachusetts Remington Ticonderoga!!
18th c American leather wallet with original tie still intact together with all 9 original documents found therein. There is a 1789 dated and signed appointment of Lewis Warriner as 3rd sergeant of a company in the Massachusetts militia. A signed resignation of captain Lewis Warriner from the mass militia by order of the captain general dated 1802, a commonwealth of Massachusetts general orders for officers and soldiers in the militia of Massachusetts William donnison dated 1801, a hand written estate related document dated 1790 signed Lewis Warriner, an 1802 signed dated document estate related Lewis Warriner probate court judge signed, a receipt signed by Norman Warriner, a hand written signed and dated 1794 by Lewis Warriner document evidencing payment received from Seth Remington of west Springfield(some sort of a farm lease? also signed ... moreby Shadrach Remington, a 1791 signed and dated deed or conveyance to Hezekiah Warriner signed by Hezekiah and two others, one is Aaron Bur(l? and the last document is a signed and dated 1794 deed wherein Seth Remington paid money to/conveyed land to Lewis Warriner, signed by Seth and Shadrach Remington. Now while there is a fantastic group of colonial era original documents, the wallet is just so cool, all original, leather, original tie, stitching etc. On one end of the wallet the stitching has failed. This is an amazing complete original group of documents in the original wallet. Stuff like this is rare! Found by a picker in Greenfield, Massachusetts. I don't know and have not done the research to find out if the Remington's in these docs are related to or part of the firearms company. Great antique collection. Lower 48 only. PayPal. Civil War documents infamous Camp Douglas POW camp Chicago
Civil War grouping of original documents that belonged to a guard at the infamous Camp Douglas POW camp in Chicago. Ill. It was used to hold Confederate prisoners and they were not treated very well by Northern soldiers. The documents are dated 1862. They belonged to a Captain Abram Lash of the 69th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He was a Captain. He was born 8-3-1838 and died 6-14-1913. There is a GAR ID tag for Capt. Lash and besides the original documents there is an 8 1/2 x 11" photo of Abram Lash and his wife taken circa 1870. There is a copy of an original muster roll for Co. A 69th Ill. 1964 PA CIVIL WAR DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE AND 30 FAMILY DOCUMENTS MONTGOMERY CTY
This auction includes an original civil war discharge certificate for Martin Norton. A private who served in Captain James Dysant's company J of the 4th regiment of militia between 6/29/1863 and 8/18/1864. It is an original and not a later copy. It measures 8.5" x 11" Also included are 30 family receipts from the 19th century through 1910 for supplies, taxes, subscriptions, funerals, fees etc. These all came out of a home in Sanatoga Pa. which had been occupied by the same family for 200 years. The discharge has losses around the edges as can be seen in the photos. This is a nice grouping of local history.

These three documents are State and County"TAKE NOTICE" Taxes due, the W-2 of real estate and property. The IRS was not formed until an Act of 1862, establishing a Federal Tax to Pay for the Civil War. So, the first two documents, from 1856 and 1857 are from before Federal Taxes existed, some would say a Golden era. The Form is the same for the 1863 Document, as Federal Taxes were paid apart. The FEDERAL IRS Certificate issued to William Mendenhadl for $5.00 to run his Butcher Cart in 1863 has a elegant Header, Large and Ornately Beautiful, Internal Revenue Service" has received the sum of $5.00 from Wm. Mendenhall for his Butcher cart and he has the right to operate from April 1864 to April 1865. This all sounds very dry, but the Calligraphy alone is Artwork. Trust me, I never thought I would think a paper from the"ASSESSOR ... morefor State and County Taxes" was Art, but it is our History, not the glamorous, but the everyday living that we can all understand. 3 years of documents. 1856, 1857 AND 1863, in an 11"x8.5" frame to protect them, but they overlap, so the frame is just for ease of transport. Right now I am auctioning a Collection of State and IRS Documents from the Civil War. Papers of Indentureship from 1806, 7 and 1809, and a least 70 photos, several are the Lenape Indians,native to Chester County PA. in traditional wear. The Mendenhall's were Quakers and were strongly against Slavery or any inequality between Humans, so I believe the Mendenhall's payed for these photos, maybe the Indians were their friends, I'm not sure if the Lenape Indians still exist. So this was bought at a estate sale. But the thing is it was buried under a box of stamps so dont know if it was hidden or what; what it looks like to me is a schooling study guide at the beginging but near the back it actually talks about the korean war and counterstirke intelligence there is alot of information in this thing but did not go through it all due to its age(Pages are yellow but intact) It is in an unmarked notebook binder and pages alon are about 1" 1/4" thick so loots of information in here.
