Vintage Business Letter Ledger This auction is for a vintage Business Letter ledger. It looks like just another hard covered book to put in the library. But it really has an alphabetical file inside to file letters and correspondence. The top fits snug but all it takes is a little push of the finger to release the latch and it opens easily. The spot where you push has a small sign of wear but other than that, this file is in very very good condition. This Ledger has 809 pages and thousands of entry's of the wide variety of items Moyer Bros. sold in the 1890's and who they were sold to. Prescriptions and items sold include such things as cocaine opium. Morphine pills, laudanum, paregoric, liver pills, carbolic, gold dust, poison, soap, paper, ink, caulk, borax, cement, clove, perfume, lye, red lead, white lead, yeast, butlers paint, turpentine, glass, bleach, 50 lb pepper, alum, fly paper, shellac, matches, salts, lard oil, garden seeds, plaster rifles, polish, bay rum, and paint bees wax and thousands of other items. Antique ledger from Texas oil company detailing all 1921 business transactions
This is really an amazing artifact from the past. It's a record of all of a small 1920s oil company's expenses for a two-year period. It includes orders for raw materials. Land and water use as well as charges for different jobs, all recorded in an delicate hand in ink that has turned sepia bronze in the last 90 years. It provides a line-by-line glimpse into the industry that would come to dominate West Texas for the majority of the century at a time when that future was hardly imaginable. It would be a wonderful addition to any home library or home or business office decoration theme or could be taken apart for amazing art projects. I'll refund overage on the postage. Thanks!

1872-1881 Label Maker's/Printers Business Ledger - Talbot County,Maryland
Item up for bid is an awesome hand written ledger from what appears to be a label maker or printer based around the Talbot County.MD area. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find the business name but the ledger shows numerous places he sold to including the Talbot County government and numerous doctors, individuals and other businesses. The earliest date I can find is 1871 and the latest is 1881 with many entries indicating that the original owner was selling labels, letterhead and other related products. Cover shows a lot of wear and tear as does the spine. All pages appear to be intact though I did spot a few where it looks like the original owner cut a few sections of individual pages out either because he made a mistake or he needed to use it for another purpose. Item up for bid is a fantastic antique business ledger for Rose& Co of Cordova.MD which has dates spanning from 1872- 1882. The back of the book has headings which identify this as being from Cordova and it was recently found in an estate that had many other ledgers all from the Cordova/Talbot County area. The first page has the center cut out for some reason that I cannot fathom but the rest of the pages look to be in good shape. The cover shows some wear and tear to the surface and wear around the edges from age, use and shelf wear. The binding feels a bit loose but with care this should last a lifetime. 1896 Cordova, Maryland Delmarva Peninsula Business Ledger
Item up for bid is a fantastic antique ledger from the year 1896. The writing identifies this as being from Cordova. Maryland and this is backed up by ledger entries for sales to parts of the Talbot County Government. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the entries so I believe it to be a general business and expense ledger. The front cover has the remnants of a sticker on it where the date"1896" is written and that date is also on the pages of the ledger. The binding is coming loose and the top part of the spine is separated so this book should be handled with care. Cover shows some wear to the surface paper as well as wear around the edges and corners from age, use and shelf wear. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. 1869-1882 General Business Ledger - Crops To Stamps And Everything In Between
Item up for bid is a fantastic old ledger that has dates in it running from 1869 to 1882. I cannot find a name that identifies the individual or business this ledger belonged to but it was found in an estate on the Delmarva Peninsula with some other ledgers of the same time period so I am confident it is from a business that operated in this location. I have looked through it and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as there are entries for everything from mass amounts of crops purchased to postage stamps to letterhead and everything in between so it looks like it is an old general expense and income ledger. This is a 1939 National Book Co. records book. I'm interpreting as a grocer's business ledger from the accounting info. A hardcover with the faux leather in burgundy. Its very interesting to see the different purchases and sales. This business man was from Pontiac. Michigan, Also, included is a food inspection report dated April 1939.
