Venetian Life" Volumes 1 and 2 by William Dean Howells with color illustrations from original water colors was published by Houghton. Mifflin and Company with a date on the title page of 1892. These vintage two volumes have cream color cloth covers with gilt letters and design which are in very good condition and also decorated endpages. Volume One has 279 pages and volume two has 287 pages with an extensive Index at the back of volume two; both book are filled with chapters of life and scenes in Venice. The color illustrations are centers on full pages and scattered throughout both books with tissue on each page; they are still vivid and bright. Feb 7. There are 250 pages. The book measures about 7 1/2" by 5 3/8" Add this to your collection! This is from a large religious book collection. There is a small sticker on the spine with catalog information from the personal library. The book has an ... moreold owner's name stamped on the inside front and back covers and title page. There is some writing on the title page and an inscription on the last page. The inside front cover page is torn/missing pieces. The covers have wear. Bent corners, and fraying/tears to the edges and corners. The top and bottom of the spine are fraying. The binding is starting to seperate at the inside front cover. There is yellowing, staining, and discoloring to pages. The title page has a small tear toward the bottom. Some pages have bent corners, creases, etc. The bottom edge of the pages has a stain.
