A Cousin's Conspiracy or A Boy's Struggle for an Inheritance by Horatio Alger Jr. Horatio Alger Jr. was born in 1832 and passed in 1899. He was known for being a prolific 19th century author of books about young impoverished boys and their struggles to grow up and become successful. information from goodreads(dot)com) As I was trying to research this book. I could not locate one exactly like it. I found ones published by the same company around 1911, however they had green hard covers with a different illustration. This book does not say when it was printed and I have been unable to find that information. As you can see from the photos, it shows quite a bit of wear. The red cover has a texture to it. The binding is still intact but breaking down. All pages are intact and I did not find any tears. There is no writing in the book. Possibly ... morethis is a rare copy of this novel, I do not know. It seems though that Horatio Alger Jr. novels are well liked and sought after.

Here is 3 antique books by Horatio Alger Jr. Titled The Cash Boy, Wait and Hope, and Brave and Bold. These do not have copyright dates, there is a name and date of 1912 written in the front of one. The books are 7 1/2 inches by 5 inches. These have some minor wear and staining do to being over a hundred years old. See pictures for more detail. Liquidating book collection from local estate sale.
