Antique miniature book in fragile condition. 62 pages in all. I cannot find any date printed on the book. But the last two pictures are of a slip of paper I found tucked in between pages 20 and 21. I did a little online research and the study they are talking about dates back to 1919. I also included a quarter next to the book in the picture of the back cover to give an idea of the size. The title is stamped in gold on the front cover and the top outside of the pages are also gold. The cover, inside and out, front and back are in fragile condition. But the remaining pages which are printed on are in near perfect condition. Please let me know if you have any other questions or would like me to add additional pictures. 1898 Rudyard Kipling Recessional
A Victorian Ode' By Rudyard Kipling, printed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1898. This is a small hardcover book, several pages long, measures 5 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. There's a photo of the author, with the traditional tissue page for protection, at the front of the book. The cover is decorated with a lovely Art Nouveau design, which was popular at the time of printing. One of the blank pages at the front has a small piece missing(see photos) Kipling was a Nobel Prize winning author in 1907, and one of the most famous of Victorian and Edwardian Era authors. Paypal.

The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling (hardcover 1968)
This book is being sold to raise money for the Eagle. Alaska Public Library. It is a former library book. The book has some standard library markings. But otherwise the pages are clean and the book is in overall nice condition. I added a couple pictures of the book. So once again, please take a look at them. Shipping will be done with USPS media mail. Media mail is done on a"space available" basis. Since our town is served by a small mail plane. There are times when there is no space available. Sometimes the mail plane gets cancelled when the weather is bad or there is too much smoke in the air from summer fires. Passengers are top priority on the plane and mail is secondary. 11 Book Lot Victorian & Early 19th Century Vols Rudyard Kipling cr 1899 Swastika
11 Book Lot of Victorian& Early 19th Century titles by Rudyard Kipling ~ cr 1899 as published by Doubleday& McClure Co of New York. Each volume measures approx. 7 1/4" x 5" and contains approx. over 300 pages in each volume. Satiny green colored boards with gilt lettering on spines. Page tops were at one time gilt which has since worn away. All books for the most part are in pretty good condition with the exception of one volume where the back hinge is damaged(see pic) A few of the endpapers are showing some light foxing(see pic) This is not widespread. Pages and spines are nice and tight; pages are clean but have darkened slightly with age. I did not notice any torn pages. Corners are bumped. Some edges showing more wear than the others. Still in pretty good condition for being 116 years old! All 11 volumes are imprinted ... morewith the Swastika symbol on their inside title pages which was used by Kipling as a Hindu good luck symbol(left facing) Upon the rise of Nazi Germany. Kipling discontinued the use of this symbol. Book Titles are as follows: 1. Soldiers Three 2. Life's Handicap 3. Under the Deodars 4. From Sea to Sea(vol 1) 5. From Sea to Sea(vol 2) 6. Departmental Ditties 7. The Naulahka ~ A Story of West and East(there are two copies of this book; one is in more nicer shape than the other) 8. The Day's Work 9. Plain Tales from the Hills 10. Many Inventions(this title was published by D. Appleton also in 1899 but bears a cr date of 1893. It's markings are the same as the Doubleday publications. This sale is for a vintage FULL RED LEATHER hardback edition entitled“Captains Courageous. subtitled“A Story of the Grand Banks, by Rudyard Kipling(1865-1936) With illustrations by I. W. Taber. It was published by The Century Co. NYC, in 1917. This is a classic Kipling novel on the New England fishing fleet. Harvey Cheyne is the son of a wealthy railroad magnate raised(and quite thoroughly spoiled) by his over-indulgent parents. Washed overboard from a transatlantic steamship and rescued by fishermen on the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. The young Harvey cannot persuade them to take him ashore, nor convince them of his wealth. However, the Captain of the We're Here, Disko Troop, offers him a job as part of the crew until they return to port. With no other choice, Harvey accepts. There follows a series of trials and adventures where the ... moreboy learns to adjust to his rough new life. And with the help of his friend, the captain's son, Dan Troop, he makes fine progress. Eventually, the schooner returns to port and Harvey wires his parents. They rush to the fishing town(Gloucester, Massachusetts) and find to their amazement that their child has become an industrious, serious and considerate young man. Harvey's mother rewards the seaman who initially rescued Harvey. Harvey's father rewards Captain Troop by hiring his son. Dan, to work on his prestigious tea clipper fleet, and is delighted at his son's new maturity and their relationship dramatically improves even as Harvey decides to begin his career with his father's shipping lines. Written when Kipling was 31. And not long married to the sister of his American agent, this is his only book to be set entirely in America. The book measures 7 inches x 4.5 inches and has 282 pages(including illustrations) Which are gilt edged to the top rims. The book is in acceptable condition for its age. Rudyard Kipling "If" Framed Poem Original 1910 in FRAME w/ Glass DANA TODD ,MINN
This poem IF has been put in an old frame by The ODD SHOP in Minneapolis. Minn. Has the name Dana Todd on the back. The back has some tears in the paper and stains on the inside piece but the poem itself looks good. Has a copyright date of 1910. The one side of the wire hager is broke but wouldn't be hard to replae it. I did not want to try to clean it up or replace anything as I am not an expert in that area. The frame is around 6 5/8 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches long. The frame also has some places where the finish has worn off. thanks for looking. 1899 The Poems of RUDYARD KIPLING Biographical Intro by Nathan Haskell Dole
First of all the issues.Pages 223. 224, 225 and 226 are loose. There are small tares on the inside front and rear cover.Just the dark brown paper covering the inside of the leather. See pictures. The soft flexable leather binding is warn on several areas. Although SOLID and secure, the leather shows"use Marks" i.e. shelf ware, table ware etc. There is a 1/4" rip on the very top of the spine on the leather that protrudes up from the binding. The front cover has a fruit tree PRESSED into the leather with"8" pieces of fruit in the tree if that has any significance. There are 393 pages. All except the earlier mentioned pages are intact and damage free. The book is 7" x 4-3/4" Postage is free. Thank you for looking and we combine any and all orders.
