The Bible is in very good condition for being over 100 years old and is full of beautiful black& white and color illustrations. Very old Catholic Bible.I have no idea of it's age.But I believe it is from at least the mid-1800's. On the first page there is a list of the Bishops and Arch- bishops that approved the edition.I Googled several of the names and their terms were between 1830's and 1850's.The Bible has a page of Births,deaths,and marriages.The name of the family listed is Willis. Also,in the back,there is a place for pictures. This Bible is in rough shape and needs lots of repair.It also smells of smoke.It was probably in a parlor at some time where people smoked a lot.The first several pages are brittle and very worn around the edges(PIC 7)There may be a cover page missing. Here's a beautiful solid oak Bible stand/easel. When I bought the stand I was told it came from a church in Scottville. Il. The picture depicting Christ carrying the cross came from an antique 19th century Bible and was later put on using decoupage. The brass eagle was also added to simulate Isaiah 40:31 This is a one of a kind piece and will really add some beauty to displaying your Bible Rear board with picture measures 19 3/4" across and 12 1/4" high. Bottom lip that supports Bible protrudes 1 1/2" The picture itself measures 12 1/2" wide X 7" high(removed from a 19th century family Bible) I refinished this stand and decoupaged the picture using mat-antique finish, very nice rustic finish to it. It is really old Bible however it is not marked with the age in it. I am guessing the late 1800's to early 1900's due to it has gold gilting on top of the pages. It is pretty good shape with some wear on the covering. And the binding is starting to get loose on the first couple of pages. It has over 900 engraving in it they are really nice. It was has been inscribed on the front cover to someone's daughter named Agnes as a gift. This a really good heavy bible.
