Measures approximately 82.5cm x 36cm x 3.5cm deep(32.5" x 14" x 1.5" The tray is divided into three sections. Each having various sized compartments. There are 95 compartments in total with brass detailing at each compartment intersection(see photos) Even the original paper lining in the compartments is still in tact. It also has the original metal handle and label holder. I have polished it up to give the wood a nice all over finish. I t is extremely sturdy and well made with no sign of damages or cracks. Lewis& Clark, beginning their famous expedition in St. Louis, Missouri, passed through the area in 1806 while they followed the Missouri River west in hopes of finding a trade route to the Pacific Ocean. To deal with the Indian problems, the first fort was built in the area in 1829, with the fort, Fort Benton. Being built along the Missouri River in 1846. Letter measures 8.5" x 13" with compacting folds but is in excellent condition. Actual color of paper is darker than images show due to the flash. Signature rates a"10" in Clarity. Great content- Dear Mr. Rather. I've received your letter dated 27 September, 1975 suggessting an interview for a CBS produced documentary evidently concerning the above suit; as you mentioned I had previously replied negatively to Miss Kartiganer, a CBS Representative in this matter my initial reaction in hearing of this documentary was that it was not an undertaking which primarily for legal reasons, should involve directly either the defendant or those representing ... morehim because 1) Professional jurists would probably think it inappropriate for a party to argue his case on TV while they had the same under consideration and 2) Apparently the fundamental legal question now before the courts and which counsel& defendant have focused on, is not culpability but whether fraud was employed to get the plea. In conclusion, while it would be an exaggeration to say I fully expected the government& defense attorney's to use tactics-tactics the defendant has now alleged in court petitions to get the plea, it wasn't nonexpectant; however, I believe the appellate courts based upon evidence presented will arrive at an equitable solution in current proceedings. And while I do appreciate your offer to participate in the documentary film, I decline for reasons above stated and also request that no film be aired in the documentary taken while I was in a debilitated condition in solitary confinement. This is a beautiful example of what I've been told is a picture frame you hung by front door to hold letters and magazines that you get through your mail slot. Its a two part piece with the front held on an angle by small chains which leaves a gap bewtween front and back in which to place letters. It looks great and the only defect is the back piece of wood is cracked. The artwork is a Thomas cole coloor print"Voyage of Life" from the National Gallery of Art in Washington. DC. This trim has a really nicely aged patina. The color of the metal and the fact that there are spots of green-colored oxidation on it lead me to believe that it is copper.
