This is a great American classic Novel written by one of literary history's most influential authors. Copyright 1889 by S.L. Clemmons. And dated 1901 by Harper& Brothers Publishers- New York& London. This is marked on the spine as the"Harper's Library Edition" It is cloth hardcover and has no dust jacket. The page edges are a little rough around the outside due to age, the pages themselves are in good condition. The cover is in great condition for it's age, although it does show some aging characteristics(rubbed corners, spots of faded color) The binding is complete and intact, the spine is good and rigid, and all of the print and ink are clearly visible. This is arguably THE primer Classic by Mark Twain; Life on the Mississippi printed in 1883 by JR Osgood and Company Boston complete with leather covers. The work has over 300 illustrations and is very solid and tight. There are 624 pages. The story originally made the papers by being sold as a subscription only. The pages have some foxing and are starting to yellow some. The Spine is very good although slight separation is starting on the inside covers. This edition has what we all look for. The caption on p. 443 reading"the St. Louis Hotel" in addition to Mark Twain appearing in flames on p. 441 which was offensive to his wife who was successful in having it removed. This is a great collector's book perhaps one of the most famous of all editions. A real must for the serious.

This 718 page book was copyrighted in 1897 and has multiple illustrations throughout, too many to count! It is in good condition, wear to the cover and edges, though the pages have yellowed with age, we found no bends or tears in the paper. It measures approx. 6 1/2" x 9 1/4" x 2 1/4" An interesting elephant can be found on the cover of the book. If you are a Mark Twain collector, this is a must have! Good luck! Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Published by The American Publishing Company in 1898. With a copyright date of 1875. This is a hardcover book that measures about 9 x 7 with 274 pages. The book is in GOOD condition. The cover has some wear, the binding is loose and the pages are all present and in good shape with some minor marks. Both the front and rear endpapers have tears at the hinge. The cover and spine of the book, although worn, are still attractive with gilt embossed lettering and stars as shown in the pictures. Along with this the chapter titles are beautifully illustrated and accompanied with black and white illustrations following the story.
