This was a Sampler that was sent out to Homes and Schools so they could get a taste of what the Book was going to be like. If there was enough interest and enough orders in the book then it would be published as a Complete Book(in picture#6 the Red Binder was what the Completed Book would have looked like. I dug pretty deep and could not find even a note on the Completed Book, I think it was never published, I'm not an expert but I can dig pretty good. The original Book was to have 318 pages and 65 Illustrations. This Sampler has 39 pages and 33 Illustrations. Penciled name and bookseller's notations on ffep with a penciled number on reverse of fep. Pages are relatively ... morebright and appear to be free of foxing. A couple turned page tips. There is a small discolored mark on the inside of page 2 caused by some transfer. Back pastedown is completely split; the papers that lined the inside of the spine are tucked inside back cover. A vintage song book for children featuring 33 songs that we loved as children. Little Robin Red- Breast. Little Boy Blue, May Day, The Christmas Bells and many more. This book was dedicated to the Kindergarten Children of The Western State Normal School in Kalamazoo Michigan. Words and music by Dora I. Buckingham, copyright 1913 by Milton Bradly Company. The book measures 12 1/2" X 9 1/2” The binding is sewn. It is loose but intact. The pages are yellowed but still good. There are a few pencil marks on the cover and on one of the songs. But it does not interfere with the words or music. Because I am liquidating local estates, all items are sold as is. Most of my items are vintage and will naturally show wear from age and use. Very nice book with both Color and black and white pictures. It is full of art. Poetry, stories and songs. The Book and pages are in very Good Condition it just has a little musty odor from age.
