JOAN CRAWFORD FILM BOOK - WARMLY SIGNED & INSCRIBED Illustrated 1st Edition 1968
THE FILMS OF JOAN CRAWFORD. By Lawrence J. Quirk. A Lavishly Illustrated Filmography of the Great American Actress JOAN CRAWFORD. WARMLY SIGNED and INSCRIBED by JOAN CRAWFORD on a piece of HER PERSONAL. PRINTED STATIONERY/ NOTE-PAPER. Happy Birthday/ Pierre/ with love/ Joan” The note-paper is 4.25” x 5.25” It is light green and printed at the top in yellow and black. It is Inscribed and Signed by Crawford in blue ink. It is quite lovely. The note-paper was attached to the front free-endpaper by a couple of 3/4” x 3/4” stamp collector type hinge mounts. The mounts are no longer present. But they have left their stain on the front free-endpaper and a matching stain to the blank backside of the Signed Note-Paper. The mounts did no damage, other than leaving their age mark. The signed stationery/ note-paper is now laid-in loosely. Also laid-in ... morethe book is an unrelated note-card from the Consulate General of Switzerland to“Pierre” Dated 7.3.74. It is hand-written in German. I believe it has nothing to do with the Crawford book, but just happens to be laid-in this book. The book came from the estate of PIERRE RHEIN and PATRICIA MITAU. Who had three children all of whom took their father’s last name. Pierre Rhein was born in Switzerland. Patricia Mitau was born in San Francisco. Her mother was Marjorie Fleishhacker whose father was Herbert Fleishhacker, the famous Banker, Financier, Early California Baseball Team Owner, Bon Vivant, and Philanthropist. The Fleishhacker family is a very well-known San Francisco family. Any connection Pierre Rhein had with Joan Crawford might have come from the acquaintances of the family of his partner, Patricia Mitau, but I don’t really know. Hardcover Book in Dustjacket. 9” x 11” 222 pages. Illustrated throughout with b&w photographs from Crawford’s films. Published by Citadel Press, New York, 1968. First Edition, so stated. VERY GOOD book. Foxing to the top page edges(page edges of the closed book) otherwise just lightly used and still tight, bright, clean and unmarked; in

1901 EDITION de LUXE ~ THE TIPPLER’S VOW #23/250 ~ FAIRCHILD/PALEOLOGUE ~ SIGNED
We wish to state at the outset that we are not book knowledgeable people. We have reviewed the standards used by the industry and have done our best in the following description to be conservative. Based on the above. We consider this book to be in good to good + condition. The book. The Tippler’s Vow” was published by Croscup and Sterling, N.Y. 1901. The limitation page(see photos) states that this particular book is#23 out of 250 numbered and registered copies. Beneath this it is signed in pencil by the author Lee Fairchild and the illustrator Jean Paleologue. The pages are numbered and some are not cut. There are 26 different dry points as book illustrations. An interesting point here is that there are two copies of each illustration bringing the actual total to 52. Why this is we don’t know. We assume because this is a deluxe edition ... morethat the extra prints were intended to be removed by the end user and perhaps provided as a bonus. The interior printed pages are in good condition with none appearing to be missing. Torn, etc. The tissues protecting the prints have burning and in turn to a greater or lesser degree have toned the prints following them. This occurs throughout the book and we assume this to be a problem likely indigenous to all copies of The Tippler’s Vow. The book has a burgundy red Moroccan leather spine with raised bands and decorative gilding and leather corners. There is minor wear to the corner points and the spine has wear to the top and bottom edges and some petty chipping as well as the beginning of some splitting although the spine itself appears quite tight. As previously stated. We are not book dealers. If you require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us. This book is priced below current market value. Please note: Due to the age of this book it will be shipped USPS Priority shipping/insured and will run $35.00. SHIPPING/PAYMENT: Buyer to pay actual shipping& insurance costs based on weight and value. There is an additional 1% material and handling charge

Farley was the campaign manager for New York State politician Alfred E. Smith's 1922 gubernatorial campaign and Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1928 and 1930 gubernatorial campaigns. As well as FDR's Presidential campaigns of 1932 and 1936. Farley predicted large landslides in both, and revolutionized the use of polling, and polling data. He was responsible for pulling together the New Deal Coalition of Catholics. Labor unions, African Americans, and farmers for FDR. Farley, and the administration's patronage machine he presided over, helped to fuel the social and infrastructure programs of the New Deal. Farley opposed Franklin Roosevelt breaking the two-term tradition of the presidency, and broke with Roosevelt on that issue in 1940. Farley helped to normalize diplomatic relations with the Holy See and in 1933 was the first high-ranking government official to travel to Rome. Where he had an audience with Pope Pius XI and dinner with Cardinal Pacelli(future Pope Pius XII) As of 1942. Farley was considered the supreme Democratic Party Boss of New York. In 1947. SIGNED DICTIONARY OF FISHES 1ST EDITION - 1948 RUBE ALLYN ILLUSTRATED HC BOOK
This auction is for a very rare first edition copy of Rube Allyns Dictionary of Fishes. As far as overall condition the book is worn. You can feel it separating from the spine(all pages still intact) The illustrations inside are phenomenal and are unaffected. There is a small signature from someone in the top left of the book, however the interesting part about this auction is that Rube Allyn signed it himself! The book belonged to a personal friend of his at one point according to the paragraph he hand wrote on the inside of the book. It reads like this. To Jim and Helen Rochester, a grand team of thoroughbreds who by their good judgement and success in the world of outdoor sports will always be an inspiration to the rest of us. Rube Allyn" Also in the first page of the book was a map of the Ocala National Forest, it had very minimal ... morehand written notes. My father was an antique collector and this was one of the pieces he was particularly fond of. A must have for any collector of books, Rube Allyn, Fish, or historic Florida. Don't miss your chance as these books don't pop up very often, let alone signed. Feel free to message me with any questions. Will ship within 3 days of receiving payment. Please check my other auctions for more vintage items. Thank you and good luck!

Farm Corner by Joe F. Combs(1963 HB) Signed First Edition Dust cover has a small tears the book is it self is in good condition. With a heart felt message inside. Early History of East Texas Farm Corner by Joe F. Combs East Texas and West Louisiana are rich in history and in the early days of this country. As now, were closely associated in business and commerce. Fact is, Natchitoches, La. was the seat of the Spanish governors who ruled over Texas for half a century. We might say that Natchitoches was actually once the capital of Texas. It is believed by some historians that Sieur Louis Juchereau de St. Denis. Laid out the faous El Camono Real, or King's Highway in 1713 or 1714, when he set out from Natchitoches for the west to increase trade with the Mexicans and Indians. One of the most famous of early-day ranches was"El Lobonillo. ... morea few miles east of San Augustine. It was on the King's Highway and was owned by Gil Ybarbo, famous in East Texas history. This ranch reached the dignity of a pueblo. Tramel's Trance was the name of an early-day road. A historic route from Nacogdoches to the Northeast. It was over this old road that such great men as David Crockett and Sam Houston traveled on their way to Texas. It ran along a region near the present boundary of Shelby and Nacogdoches counties. Raven Hill" was the plantation hoe of General Sam Houston. Built in 1844 and sold before the Civil War. It was located about four miles southeast of Cold Springs in San Jacinto County. It was named"Raven Hill" by the general because he was called the"Raven" by the Cherokee Indians. Liberty County was the home of the Orcoquisac Indians and an east-west trail they often tramped over on their foraging expeditions became the La Bahia. Or lower road in the 18th Century. It finally came to be known as the Opelousas Road, over which great cattle drives went in the early days. La Calle Real del Norte was an 18th-Century trail connecting the Indian villages of the Nacogdoches and Nasoni Indians
