Antique Books This auction is for a really nice and rather rare antique book set that was printed by D. Appleton& Company back in 1874. The books are titled Picturesque America; or The Land We Live In. A Delineation by Pen and Pencil of The Mountains. Rivers, Lakes, Forests, Waterfalls, Shores, Canons, Valleys, Cities, and Other Picturesque Features of Our Country. The illustrations inside are all steel and wood engravings and there are tons of great images and illustrations– really a great looking set. One says this is Volume II. And it looks like both books make up Volume II– one ends at page 152 and the other starts at page 153. Measure about 10" x 13" and in excellent condition with just minor wear.
