Stories, pictures, charts, etc. The Canadian Pacific Police as we know it today was called The Department of Investigation when created on the 15th January 1913. The first Chief was Rufus G. Chamberlin. The first headquarters was in Windsor Station(which was sold in 2009) and remained there until the head office of CP Rail moved to Calgary. Alberta in mid-1990's. In this book you will read many stories about"Chinese" people working on the railroad. Some investigations, crime trends at the time, stories about some members of the department, duties, rate of pay, etc. You will also see a great number of pictures. Title page also says it is a chronological summary and record of every engagement.compiled from official records of the War Department. Illustrated with facsimile photographic reproductions of official war photographs taken by Mathew B. Brady. It is a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the war published by the New York War Memorial Association in 1912. Title page mentions 16 color plates and there are 8 here(one mostly gone and 7 OK) so likely this is about half of the original publication. 12 x 8 3/4" glossy pages are assembled into a very heavy black binder which holds the pages at their tops. Binder has heavy damage as you see. Inside pages have damage as well. About 3/4" ... moreof the first page color plate is gone. Title page has tears. Foxing and chunks missing and that is the worst of it. Some inside pages have tears and smudging too but most are OK.
