It measures 7/8" in diameter. Nerylla Taunton shows similar ones on p. 138 of her book Antique Needlework Tools. It would have been part of a workbox set of sewing tools. Emeries were used to sharpen and polish the steel needles of the age. Emery powder is a fine grit and the needles were pushed in and out the cushion several times. It also removed rust. Adorable antique children's book copyrighted 1924 by Cupples& Leon Company it is the first edition made by them but was copyrighted first in 1919 by The Macaulay Company. Bedtime Wonder Tales by Clifton Johnson. Illustrated by Harry L. Smith. 125 pages, 18 different folklore and fairy stories starting with Little Red Riding Hood, sources of the tales are: Grimm, Scotland, France, Russia, France, American Indian, Wales, Hungary, England. This book measures 7 1/2" high by 5 1/2" wide. It is in good condition with normal wear specially in the spine but very nice for it's age. A well loved book. Stunning illustrations. REGARDING SHIPPING I ship my items from Uruguay through the Uruguay Post which is a very reliable postal service. Items shipped in these manner may take from 10 up to 30 business days to arrive.
