Rab and Friends Hardcover book. Book has some major condition issues. The book has separated away from the cover and the 1st couple of pages have separated away from the rest of the book. There are some spots and page discoloration probably due to the acid content in the paper. The front and back boards are also soiled. This is a great story and a good book for old book lovers. Some companies had not more than ten men. And some few had less. This battle is known as the battle of Cement Mill, or Butler’s Ford. It was fought without cannon on the Confederate side; and the Federals would have fared better if they had not used any; for, when the Confederates had closed upon the Federals, they did about equal execution to both. After the battle was over, A. P. Hill wanted to know the situation on the other side, and Major Gilmore volunteered to ride up the river road, within range of thousands of muskets and about forty cannon, and not a shot was fired at him, the distance being about three-quarters of a mile. Original letter dated 1797, Petersburg, Virginia, where John Brown of the firm Falls and Brown of Philadelphia, has written to Hawthorn and Kerr regarding the shipment of stockings and blankets.signed John Brown. Letter is 8x11, folds, toning, else in overall good condition. Hawthorn and Kerr were cotton brokers and general merchants in Philadelphia. Pa. They had an Irish affiliate in Dublin, Lang and Hawthorn. Although the partnership was dissolved on March 3, 1797, the business was continued by Thomas Hawthorn until 1811.
