Pamphlet hardly describes this 19" X 13" historical booklet. The cover is a light blue-green and the approximately 20 glossy pages inside tell of the history of the 1893 Chicago Exposition and advertisements of the day. Very interesting. Binding is somewhat tattered. But in good shape given the age of the documents. The pages are loose and not sure how the pages were originally attached. Pages begin with"33" which is the same as the other booklet(1) also listed on ebay. If there are any other questions. Please ask before bidding. Offered for sale is this 9 volume 1936 book set titled. RIDPATH'S HISTORY OF THE WORLD in excellent to near mint condition! This set is very well illustrated throughout with colored plates, maps, charts, sketches and diagrams and the hardcovers have an attractive look to them. The pages are all very tight to the spines and I think that they were seldom open! The hardcovers have little to no wear on them including the edges. The books measure about 10 1/2" by 8" making this a large, heavy lot of books. There are 4381 pages to this set. They were published by THE RIDPATH HISTORICAL SOCIETY, INC. out of Cincinnati. I think these may be first editions but not certain. It includes Vol I. Vol II and Vol III. They measure 10 1/2" by 8" and are hardback books. They are hugely illustrated. Each book contains well in excess of 700 pages. Number XXXII and LXXII of Harper's Family Library 1835. 2 Volumes Turner’s Sacred History of the World Sharon Turner was born in Pentonville, Turner was the eldest son of William and Ann Turner of Yorkshire who had settled in London upon marrying.2] He left school at fifteen to be articled to an attorney in the Temple. On 18 January 1795 he married Mary Watts(bap. 1768, died 1843) with whom he had at least six children. Among these were Sydney, inspector of reformatory schools, and Mary, married to the economist William Ellis.1] Turner became a solicitor but left the profession after he became interested in the study of Icelandic and Anglo-Saxon literature. He settled himself in Red Lion Square near the British Museum, staying there for sixteen years. He advised his friend Isaac D'Israeli to baptise his children(Benjamin included) ... moreto give them a better chance in life.2] It is said that some of his manuscripts were written in the margins of letters, on the inside covers of magazines, or on discarded wax paper. His publisher sent him clean paper but Turner did not use it. Bound in publisher's original cloth.
