Three are made of bronze and the fourth is made of what appears to be pewter. The coins are about the size of a silver dollar in diameter and width( 1 1/2" or 6 cm in diameter; 1/8" in width) The 4 medals commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence(the pewter coin) The famous" Spirit of'76" Fife and Drum Corps. A Minute Man. And the Liberty Bell. The coins are very detailed- these pictures don't do them justice. The reverse of all the coins shows an eagle at the center of crossed Betsy Ross Flag and a 50 star US flag(see Photo 11) The medallions come in a hard walled snap tight jewelry style box. The box is in near mint condition too. Each coin has the" 1776-1976" dates on them. They sit embedded upon a violet felt bed. This is a very nice Bicentennial set that is probably fairly scarce since they were probably on distributed locally. No international bidders- except Canada- please. CONDITION: This book looks like it's seen a lot of use; but if so. Why is it still uncut? Beats us. The binding is holding firm, NO loose pages, NO starting signatures. Front board detached, rear board still holding on by the two spine twinings sunk into the board itself. Extremely Antique Copy Of The Declaration Of Independence A Piece Of History
Our gallery is happy to offer an extremely old copy of the Declaration of Independence. As you can see in the photos it is extremely dark and we do not know how dark the original paper was. The paper is indeed very fragile from age but has been preserved well over time and was originally framed. Based upon inspection it has been determined that it was indeed not printed with any type of digital equipment. The paper is extremely old. It is hard to date the document but it certainly appears to be no later than 1850 and very likely fairly long before then! 15.5"x13.5" is the measurement of the copy.
