At the AL Thrift and Gift(please see below to learn more about us) we recently received several boxes of very old books. The donors are the family of a woman whose mother collected vintage books. And vintage cookbooks in particular(but also other kinds) So we will this week have MANY listings of antique books. It is a greyish dark green color. Hardbound, with black print on the cover. There is some wear on the edges of the cover and the book is a bit on the grimy side from long storage. The pages seem firmly ... moreheld. A few have small stains but most are clean(although yellowed with age) There are few if any tears. This book has lots of life left in it and could be used. A Parade of Brazil Nuts Recipe Book Do you love Brazil nuts? If so. Then this vintage recipe booklet was made with you in mind. Lots of delicious sounding recipes which feature the Brazil nut, all with vintage flair. While undated, the booklet looks to date to circa 1940. Published by the Brazil Nut Association in New York City, with 32 pages including front and back covers. I’m also including a bonus– a small 8-page booklet called“Dried Fruit Recipes. from the California Dried Fruit Research Institute. Also undated, it looks to date to circa 1940 as well. I thought these recipes may be nice complements to the nut recipes in the other booklet. The Brazil nut booklet has a good bit of creasing and wear. Especially on the front cover and the first eight pages. Where the outside corner has large and pronounced creasing. Some soiling. Handling ... morewear, small surface tears, etc. on front and back covers. Some wear on the spine. A lot of general creasing throughout, with a few more noticeable creases here and there. Some larger yellow-ish stains, and some occasional light stains. Pages have yellowed a bit with age. Bonus dried fruit booklet also shows a lot of general creasing. And has yellowed slightly with age.
