Carson City Post Office handwritten journal“Window Registration Book” with approximately one thousand entries and receipts dating from June 22. 1914 to September 8, 1914. This original journal. Ledger and account book is Post Office Form 1549. It lists registered mail that was sent from the Post Office in Carson City, Nevada and includes the letter/parcel number, the name of the sender, the name and address of the recipient, the amount of postage and a rubber stamp in purple ink“U.S.P.O. Carson City, Nev. and the date. It has preprinted forms as well as handwritten entries. The first few pages are creased. There is some chipping of the paper at the ends of the spine, some paper separation at bottom and a corner is bent. There are 8 receipts per page. Senders include the U.S. Mint at Carson City(when it still served as the U.S. Assay Office ... morefor gold and silver) Railroad Commission, Wells Fargo Bank, and hundreds of other names and businesses.
