But this belonged to my great-grandmother who was born in 1867 but I don't know when she made it or acquired it. Approximate Measurements: 92" x 70" The pillow cover measures 15" by 15" This is a beautiful vintage handstitched quilt with a hexagon honeycomb pattern. This handmade folk art quilt has over 6000 multi-colored hexagon pieces. The variety in the different flowers is amazing. So many different flower patterns and colors expertly put together. This beautiful piece has to be seen to get the true appearance much better than pictures show due to lighting conditions. It features a lovely collection of vintage fabrics. Some feed sack I think. The cotton batting is light weight and evenly distributed. Each hexagon measures 1 inch wide. The hexagons on the pillow are 3/4 inches wide. There are about 260 hexagons on the pillow case. The quality is very good with very light wear. The edge around the quilt has frayed. I showed the most extreme fraying in a picture. There are also two light purple pen marks, one of which bled through, also shown in pictures but hard to find when you are just looking at the quilt as a whole.

FANTASTIC. ORIGINAL 19TH CENTURY NEW YORK CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT LEDGER. This amazing volume was compiled by Hook& Ladder Company No. 19 which at the time operated from Ogden Avenue in the Bronx section of New York City. The location where it was originally organized. Entries run from May 6th through August 15th, 1887, and cover day-to-day activities of the firehouse in fascinating detail. Massive folio contains some 500 numbered pages. Each chock full of handwritten entries including fire calls and alarms, ambulance calls, roll calls, company drills, meal breaks, caring and exercising of the horses, trips to the blacksmith shop, equipment maintenance, supply purchases, etc. This is one of those vintage gems which should be seen to be fully appreciated. An organization known as the"prowlers" but given the nickname"the rattle watch" patrolled the streets with buckets, ladders and hooks from nine in the evening until dawn looking for fires. Leather shoe buckets, 250 in all, were manufactured by local Dutch shoemakers in 1658, and these"bucket brigades" are regarded as the beginning of the New York Fire Department. In 1664 New Amsterdam became a British settlement and was renamed New York. It looks like Emma Braun was the first school marm. The school was heated with both wood and coal in the beginning. It is amazing to follow the growth of the school and transition over time, when they make improvements to the land, adding a fence, getting their first music outfit in 1929, playground equiptment in 1931, insurance and taxes over time, hiring additional staff, who is splitting wood and delivering coal, and on and on. Some interesting entries are when they started to get the Milwaukee Journal in 1936, electricity must have been installed around 1935, they bought a radio in 1939, the victory tax starting in 1942, enrolling in Wisconsin School of the Air, ... moreand something called Cancer Control. The ledger is complete for every year between 1924 and when it ends in 1956. I would assume the school was closed at that point since there are empty pages after that year's entry. The other thing that makes this ledger stand out from others I have seen is that it lists the names of people who provided services or supplies. The book states that the 791 Illustrations have all been cut on wood from drawing made but special artists. Some illustrations are done in color. Lot of 3 Vintage Antique Children's Picture Books
This listing is for a lot of 3 very old children's book that were purchased at an older estate auction. One book is called"Fuzzy Wuzzy Puppy" and was written by Florence Sarah Winship. It was published by the Whitman Publishing Co. in 1946. It has a pencil inscription on the front cover and the front cover is partially ripped at the binding. It shows some age but overall is pretty decent for being as old as it is. Another book is called"The Little Red Hen" and it's a picture story book. It was printed by the Abbott publishing company but does not show a year. By its looks I would estimate it's about as old as the first book. The last book is called The Picture and Rhyme Book and on the front it states it is"cloth like. It was published by the Saalfield publishing company in 1941. Here's a beautiful solid oak Bible stand/easel. When I bought the stand I was told it came from a church in Scottville. Il. The picture depicting Christ carrying the cross came from an antique 19th century Bible and was later put on using decoupage. The brass eagle was also added to simulate Isaiah 40:31 This is a one of a kind piece and will really add some beauty to displaying your Bible Rear board with picture measures 19 3/4" across and 12 1/4" high. Bottom lip that supports Bible protrudes 1 1/2" The picture itself measures 12 1/2" wide X 7" high(removed from a 19th century family Bible) I refinished this stand and decoupaged the picture using mat-antique finish, very nice rustic finish to it. ANTIQUE VINTAGE miniature PULPIT Bible stand BEAUTIFUL PIECE
This is a beautiful. Unique piece. A miniature wood(looks like oak) pulpit with miniature Bible. I'm not sure how old the pieces are but would guess early to mid 1900's. The pulpit is very detailed and beautiful, has a candle mounted to each side. Pulpit measures 2 1/2" to top of Bible base(3 1/8" to top of candles) Width is 2 3/4" from candle to candle. Seems too big to be for a doll house, guessing it was custom made. Bible is 1 1/2" tall X 1 1/8" wide and 1/2" thick. It contains the gospels of Matthew thr ough Luke. Excellent condition. GERAN book pages 45 thru 62 on the lower right hand corners are a little tiny bent on the bottom. A former owner which we believe to be the original owner had his name stamp and put it on the first inner page and last inner page of the great majority of the books. Some of the covers are a little curled on the edges and occasionally they will have a small piece missing. All the books are complete and readable. They also have the box(no lid) This box has an old time piece of weathered aged masking tape holding one corner of the box that has split.
