It is 82" long and ... more39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. Would make a great addition to a Victorian glass collection! The base and stem are plain; the bowl is of clear glass. With deep cutting in a simple style. Ovals and narrow leaf-shapes. The bowl and the foot ha ve been joined at either end of the stem. All the glass is of a substantial thickness. Appropriate to the size of the item. There are one or two very tiny bubbles in the glass, and a larger one. Just off-centre, in the base which can be seen looking down through the stem. The bowl is certainly hand-made and has som e age to it. There is a realistic amount of very fine grazing around the edge of the base. A great piece to acquire for a 19th century collection. Or simply to use! Measurements: Height 11.5 cm Base diameter 9cm Top diameter 1 1 cm Condition: The bowl is in very good condition. This is a wonderful edition of Fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen. This hardcover book contains several stories. Including The Little Mermaid, with black and white illustrations. Age: This book was originally copyrighted 1887. And again in 1902. This edition is circa 1902. Condition: This book is in Good antique shape. There is some wear to the front and back covers. Mainly along the edges. The spine is in good shape, with only minor bumping on the edges. On the inside fly leaf, someone wrote: Presented to Walter Stottenstein by Zenas I.J. Balthaser. The pages have toned(darkened) with age, but they are still easily readable, and they are not brittle. The binding is still tight, and the pages are still attached to the spine. Antique 1907 Handwritten Diary: Ithaca NY Young Lady Ella Rider. Victorian Life Description. Offered here is the 1907 diary of a young lady from Ithaca. N.Y. I haven't read the whole diary. But did peek in enough to get the gist of her story. The author wrote a half to a full-page daily. Her handwriting very easy to read. At this point. We believe she was Ella Rider. I have 14 more of what may be this woman's diaries up through 1961. Only the 1907 diary is being auctioned here, but if you're interested in the lot, let me know and I can place the rest of them on eBay as a bulk buy. I also have 16 other vintage diaries that apparenlty belonged to Ella's sister Hazel Rider Daly. I will be offering these singly or as a lot soon. Let me know if you have a preference on how they're sold. Hazel was originally from Ithaca but ... morelater moved to Cortland. Hazel's diaries run from 1913 thru 1959. At this point I'm confused over who wrote some of the diaries in these two lots. We know which 16 are definitely Hazel's because she signed them. The others are unsigned and could be either sister. Though there are two 1913s and two 1932s. indicating at least two writers for those years. But back to what we're going to call Ella's 1907 diary. While in Ithaca she worked in a store. And probably lived with her parents. She had a large circle of girlfriends. And male friends appear fairly regularly to walk her home. A particular fellow"stayed until nearly one. Then he said he wouldn't go until I had kissed him goodnight. So I did(not) Ella is active in several churches. Their choirs and youth groups, and she and her girlfriends attend several times per week. She especially enjoys having girlfriends spend the night. Or spending nights at their homes, and writes of being very disappointed when they don't always accept her invitations. She sews. Including working on a long kimono, and occasionally goes to a sewing bee. She notes riding her bicycle a few times, listening to the Graphaphone

This baby book has a linen cover on hard cardboard. It measures 6" x 4" It is in very good condition. Slight discolored spots on the front and back. Not too detracting. Pages have yellowed with age. No tears or markings. Covers the usual subjects plus some that you don't see in today's baby books. The design on front cover has been hand painted on. Still has its ribbon bookmark attached. I think it dates to the early 1900's. It has gold lettering on the pages. The binder is intact and not loose There are gaps between pages in a couple of spots but the binding is tight.
