New York& London the knickerbocker press 1892. it is beautifully illustrated with many black and white drawings. Etchings, and photographs, and are printed on very heavy stock archival paper. each illustration is also covered with a sheet of tracing paper in which has text on it describing the illustration underneath. also each page has an ornate red pattern wrapping around the text. the binding is exquisite. This auction is for a wonderful antique songbook: The Nightingale- A Choice Collection of Songs. Chants and Hymns! It is from 1860. It is by W. O. and H. S. Perkins and was published by Oliver Ditson and Co. at 277 Washington St. in Boston. The book has a hard cover and is bound with a strip of very soft leather or paper. It measures about 5" x 7" and is around 200 pages long. The book is well worn. It has wear and tear from age. And a number of the pages are loose from the book. There are also some pages missing(but none of the songs listed below are missing) There is a name written inside the back cover that looks like Ambrose Devereaux of Springfield, MA. Faded spine, lightly worn front cover and back cover, Several pages on the interior have folds, tears, stains, and tears not too bad however.
