This book was in my father-in-law's collection. He was an antique dealer/collector and a World War II veteran. It was procured by him in upstate New York many years ago. The cover is well worn as you can see in the third picture. The title page in the first picture is partially torn(though complete) and that page and the Note to the Reader page is hanging onto the spine of the book with 1 binding string. Then pages through page 8 are missing. However. Pages 9 through the end page(page 749) are fully bound in the book and each page is legible and intact and readable, though a few of the pages are a bit stained. The very last page(Index to the First Volume) is torn on the bottom and missing. I have tried to describe accurately the condition of the book above. Please send me questions as you may have them. Littell's Living Age(also known simply as The Living Age) was an American general magazine largely consisting of selections from various English and American magazines and newspapers. It was published weekly for the most part. Littell's Living Age began publication in 1844. And ceased publication with the August 1941 issue. See. As this is a bound library volume. The original magazine covers aren't present. It has library marks. The cover has wear. The covers show some tearing where they are attached to the spine, but are still attached. Here's a beautiful solid oak Bible stand/easel. When I bought the stand I was told it came from a church in Scottville. Il. The picture depicting Christ carrying the cross came from an antique 19th century Bible and was later put on using decoupage. The brass eagle was also added to simulate Isaiah 40:31 This is a one of a kind piece and will really add some beauty to displaying your Bible Rear board with picture measures 19 3/4" across and 12 1/4" high. Bottom lip that supports Bible protrudes 1 1/2" The picture itself measures 12 1/2" wide X 7" high(removed from a 19th century family Bible) I refinished this stand and decoupaged the picture using mat-antique finish, very nice rustic finish to it. The frame shows wear as seen in the photos The wood back has a crack down the middle but holds the invite well. The front of the frame is wood& glass and has some damage The Invitation looks undamaged and is signed in the corner. I did not take it out of the frame. So the frame is dirty and the matt shows wear below is a description of the invite from Princeton University. Bizarre Antique/ Vintage OWL Figure 2 1/4" Sea Shells& Wood Very Unusual Part of my huge owl collection- 45 years spent at auctions& flea markets- one of the strangest. Just 2 1/4" tall. Including the base which is a slice of a tree or branch. The owl himself is formed by 2 sea shells, eyes painted on. He stands on another piece of wood. Seems to have a nautical theme. Next to him is another piece of wood, like the pilings on a dock, and this piece is connected to the one on which the owl stands by a string threaded through what seem to be nuts, but which I guess are to represent buoys. I do hope my pictures do a better job of describing it than I can do with words. It is certainly quite old, and is stamped JAPAN twice on the bottom. Special messages, and inauguration speeches from several presidents throughout United States history. There are ten numbered volumes each covering a set of presidents between the years of 1787 and 1902 and an eleventh index volume. It was copyrighted in 1897, by James D. Richardson, a representative from the state of Tennessee, and was published in 1911, by the Bureau of National Literature and Art. There is also a supplement version that covers individual presidents in depth and was published, also by the Bureau of National Literature, but in 1917. A typical volume has the Seal of the President emblazoned in the front and the ... moreback. The original first edition was printed in 1899 by the Government Printing office in Washington DC. Only 6,000 copies were printed and presented to members of the congress and senate for reference. Strassburger, edited by William J. Hinke and published by Pennsylvania German Society. Widely regarded as the most complete collection of colonial passenger lists ever published, this work comprises all the original lists of persons who arrived in the port of Philadelphia between 1727 and 1808. Volume I covers the period 1727-1775 and contains 324 ship passenger lists. Including captains' lists, signers of the oath of allegiance, and signers of the oath of abjuration. This is a very old Sunday school book called Little Branches No. 1 published by Meyer& Brother of Chicago in 1893. It is a book of Sunday School songs. This one is No. 1 of other Little Branches song books. It is in pretty good shape for its age. It is a softcover book. All of the pages are in tact. The book is 6-1/2" x 5" and it has 57 songs.
