Antique lot of three books printed from 1894-1927. From left to right-Twenty-Four Little French Dinners and How to Cook and Serve Them by Cora Moore first printing 1919 second 1920 and this copy is the third printing in 1923. Fair condition pages have aged in color but are not bent or torn. Though there are some foods penciled in the margins which I think gives it a little character, though they could be erased. Middle book is a first edition Comic Dialogues for Boys and Girls written by Carleton B Case. Published in 1927. It is in great condition as well, no bent or torn pages though they are slightly yellowed from age. Last book is Bible Stories for Little Children with the Approbation or Cardinal McCloskey. 2nd printing by Benziger Brothers in 1894. Lot of 3 Vintage Antique Children's Picture Books
This listing is for a lot of 3 very old children's book that were purchased at an older estate auction. One book is called"Fuzzy Wuzzy Puppy" and was written by Florence Sarah Winship. It was published by the Whitman Publishing Co. in 1946. It has a pencil inscription on the front cover and the front cover is partially ripped at the binding. It shows some age but overall is pretty decent for being as old as it is. Another book is called"The Little Red Hen" and it's a picture story book. It was printed by the Abbott publishing company but does not show a year. By its looks I would estimate it's about as old as the first book. The last book is called The Picture and Rhyme Book and on the front it states it is"cloth like. It was published by the Saalfield publishing company in 1941. It shows age and has a ... morerip on the binding part way. All in all these 3 books are very decent examples of some very old children's book.

You are bidding on a wonderful lot of seven books by Francis Parkman copyright 1886 and 87. This 7-part set is titled France and England in North America and is a great historical account of the US and Canada with following titles: Pioneers of France in the New World, The Jesuits in North America, LaSalle and the Discovery of the Great West, The Old Regime in Canada, Count Frontenac and New France under Louis XIV, Montcalm and Wolfe Volume 1 and volume 2. This set was published by Little Brown& Company(Boston) in 1886 and 87. Three quarter leather binding with marblized boards, inner boards and endpapers and all three sides of page edges- leather spine is ribbed. In good condition he spines on this set are a bit frayed with some paper lost and a couple spines are starting to separate from the book. The cover have edge wear with worn and ... morebumped corners- two books have both covers detached and one has one cover detached. Text is very good near all the pages a clean and white, a few creased corners, writing on two back endpaper and some staining in one book. There are some maps but not much else for illustrations. A great set.

The Compilation of the Messages and Papers of the Presidents"Background info only" The Compilation of the Messages and Papers of the Presidents is an eleven-volume series of tomes comprising proclamations. Special messages, and inauguration speeches from several presidents throughout United States history. There are ten numbered volumes each covering a set of presidents between the years of 1787 and 1902 and an eleventh index volume. It was copyrighted in 1897, by James D. Richardson, a representative from the state of Tennessee, and was published in 1911, by the Bureau of National Literature and Art. There is also a supplement version that covers individual presidents in depth and was published, also by the Bureau of National Literature, but in 1917. A typical volume has the Seal of the President emblazoned in the front and the ... moreback. The original first edition was printed in 1899 by the Government Printing office in Washington DC. Only 6,000 copies were printed and presented to members of the congress and senate for reference. Two thousand for the use of the senate and four thousand for the use of Congress. 1911 was the third printing and contained 20 volumes. There was no volume eleven in the first printing. The index is contained in the volume ten. These volumes are brown and have no seal. Volume three 1837-1841 Volume Three finishes the office of Andrew Jackson and covers the term of Martin Van Buren. These occur between 1837 and 1841.

Lot 3 Antique Diaries 1906-1908 PA Teacher Marries Wealthy Merchant AMAZING
Up for sale is an amazing set of antique diaries! The two older ones date to 1906 and 1908. These belonged to Allentown. PA schoolteacher Agnes Mary Cressman. In the 1906 diary, nearly every page has writing and a majority of them are full. She talks about her daily activities, how her days at school are, but she becomes most interesting when talking about her meetings with C.A.A. aka C. A. Andrews, a merchant who is part of a firm. She talks about how she meets Andrews on his walks, her picnics with him, etc. and how she eventually marries him later that year(on that next page she writes her new name- Mrs. C. A. Andrews) In the June 7th 1907 issue of the Allentown Ledger(found on Newspapers.com after some research) there is a mention of their wedding titled"PRETTY WEDDING. ALLENTOWN TEACHER BECOMES WIFE OF WALNUTPORT MERCHANT. This ... morewas a respected man and well known woman in order for this to make the paper. Andrews was a member of the merchant firm McFarland and Andrews. Cressman had taught at Salisbury Township. Note: Take a look at this article online. It's very interesting. The next diary from 1908 is owned by the same woman. Different name- Mrs. C. A. Andrews. This one is much less written in- really only in the first few pages. The last diary is a bonus and from 1928. It is labeled VOSS DIARY and was owned by Frank Harvatine of Forest City. He was born in 1910 and mainly just used this diary to write his name over and over again. NY, it is 5" X 7" X 1.25" and has 464 pages plus the answers in the back pages. It is hard back with a dark brown colth cover. some pencil markings but pretty clean and intact. Worn edges and the binding is excellent. Both have the state 1908 date. The third book is"Elementary Arithmetic" by Wearton Jones, Also from the American Book Co. NY. Stated 1909. Antique Miniature Book Little Leather Library Stevenson Will O' the Mill 3 x 4" The Little Leather Library was the idea of 2 brothers. Charles& Albert Boni, who sold the Whitman Candy Company the idea of including one of their little books as a bonus in each box of their candy, beginning in 1916. The books were so popular they later offered a set of"Thirty World's Greatest Masterpieces" as well as a special book rack to hold people's collections. The little books. Originally with leather covers, were 3" x 3 3/4" with"rap" edges- the cover bends at the edges to protect the interior pages. The covers are embossed with the title and author's name on the front within a decorative border, and along the spine as well, with the Little Leather Library shield on the back. At some point during ... morethe First World War, due to the cost of real leather, they switched to leatherette covers. In 1920 new owners began marketing the little books directly by mail. The shields on the back cover from 1921- 1925 are marked Redcroft Edition. Despite their popularity no new volumes were published after 1925. The books I have show signs of age which should be expected in books that are nearly 100 years old. Mostly wear to covers, and spots where they stuck together on the shelf they've sat on for the last 40 years. I do my best to describe them and point out any other problems. This is"Will O' The Mill" by Robert Louis Stevenson. Minimal shelf wear. Mostly back cover. Binding is very tight and interior pages are perfect- no tears or marks, nothing loose, no stains, pages are very light and perfectly legible. Lot of 3 Elsie Dinsmore HC Antique Books 1868-1893 by Martha Finley/Farquharson The three books in the lot include"Elsie Dinsmore" by Martha Farquharson that was entered into the State of New York's Clerk's office in 1868 and copyrighted in 1893. Elsie's Holidays" was written by Martha Farquharson(Martha Finley) and is listed as a"sequel to Elsie Dinsmore" on the title page. There is also a publisher's note in this book. Elsie's Girlhood" written by Martha Finley was copyrighted in 1872. The author has included a Preface in this particular book. Each book was published by Dodd. Mead& Company Publishers in New York. All 3 wonderful books about Martha Finley's heroine"Elsie Dinsmore" are in good to very good condition. All bindings are intact. There are no apparent pencil marks, ... moreunderscoring or other damage to the books. Two of the books do have some folded pages in the beginning. We have shown one in the pictures provided. The other has less folder corners in the front, but a small nick on one of the folds. The artfully decorated linen covers are intact, and the cover and spine printing only slightly faded. We note some slight edge wear from being stored on shelves over the years. There is a nicely illustrated plate in the front of each book but no other illustrations. There is no writing or inscriptions in the front or back of the books. Each book measures approximately 4-1/4 x 8-1/4" and is about 1" thick including covers. This is a charming children's book"Strange Animal Stories" by Helen McKenna. There are 8 pages and"Ortho-Scope" glasses for the 6 pages of 3-D images; very progressive for 1936! It is in good vintage condition with a personal inscription on the inside cover. The cover has some folds visible and the binding is"worn" open. Not torn, toward the bottom(See photos) The 3-D effect is still pretty cool.

This listing is for 3 beautifully decorated antique pamphlets from 1898. One pamphlet is about theater production and is illustrated. One is techniques for applying makeup for theatrical productions and one is an actual play. The pamphlets are in good condition for their age. The binding is intact on all pamphlets with one having a slightly loose cover. There is a stamp on one inside cover page. The staples are all intact but rusted. The pages are yellowed but very supple and in great condition. Each has an area where you can tell a tag was removed from the back cover. They are stored in a smoke free home. Thanks for looking!
