The cover is green with a nice ornate black decoration and gold lettering. The condition is worn and well loved! All 4 outer corners are curled and/ or frayed. Mormon Book of Nephi 1869 and 1868 Readers 1&2 Book Set. RARE and Collectible!!
FOR SALE is a RARE book set in the Deseret Language. The largest book is the Mormon Book of Nephi and is hardcover. Blue in color, in good condition with some minor fraying and wear on the book edges. The Book of Nephi was printed in New York for The Deseret University by Russell Bros. in 1869. The two smaller books are the Mormon Reader books 1 and 2 in the Deseret Language. Both printed in 1868. Both Readers 1 and 2 are in good condition with some wear at the edges and small stains on the front covers. All three books in this set have perfect, clear and crisp pages with no water staining or damage. The spines of each book is in very good condition. The books had been appraised in 2004. It was found that all three books together in the year 2004 had an estimated value of $4.000-$4,800.

1838 & 1846 LIFE OF JOSEPH BRANT-THAYENDANEGEA 2 Vol Book Set INDIAN HISTORY
Offered for sale is this complete 2 volume book set titled. LIFE OF JOSEPH BRANT-THAYENDANEGEA: INCLUDING THE BORDER WARS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, AND SKETCHES OF THE INDIAN CAMPAIGNS OF GENERALS HARMAR, ST. CLAIR, AND WAYNE. Volume 1 was published in 1846 by H.E. Phinney out of Cooperstown New York and Volume 2 was published in 1838 by George Dearborn and Co. out of New York and I believe is a first edition book. It is a mixed or"married" book set. The books were authored by William L. Stone and have been rebound at some time in their history. They measure about 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" and volume 1 has 425 pages not counting a 74 page appendix in the rear, while volume 2 has 537 pages and a 64 page appendix also. The set is lightly illustrated with engravings. There is foxing and staining as to be expected from age, but the ... morepages remain fairly bright and very pliable and also very tight. These are very readable books. There are some"wrinkles" at the bottom of the rear hardcover of volume one and one small wrinkle at the bottom of the front cover also on volume 1. There is some very light penciling in the books. There is an interesting previous owner's signature in volume 2 that reads HENRY LOUCKS. I did find a Henry Loucks that was a Revolutionary War Veteran who served in Klock's Regiment out of New York but I cannot be sure that the signature was his. I did purchase the books at an auction in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State about 2 years ago. The gilded lettering on the spines look very good and this is a very tight set of books that is filled with early Native American History here in the United States. These would make a fine addition to any serious collection. Shipping and handling to any of the lower 48 states is $6.00 and will be paid for by the winning bidder.
