For sale is this beautiful set of hand painted shakers made by Rosenthal. Bavaria. Made sometime between the late 1800s and early 1900s, this set features bold red and pink roses over a mint green background. The tops are coated in gold with scrolls on the sides. These shakers stand 2-1/2" tall and have a diameter of 1-1/2" They are both marked with the Rosenthal Bavaria backstamp. Condition Great condition. One of the shakers has a couple of slight. Shallow flakes underneath the bottom rim. Both shakers show some wear to the gold on top, primarily around the edges of the holes and along the top edge. Even so, they present beautifully. Blue & white sponge ware antique salt pepper shakers hand painted chinese goose
They are H 6"inches W 11" inches around the bottom base. They have some crazing on the bottom and in the goose due to age but its not noticeable unless your looking for it. There are a couple of chips underneath the bottom base as well but also not noticeable when they are upright. They have thick handles for durable use and there is some blue paint smudges on the bottom. They have a shiny glaze overall and the bottom has glaze around most of the center excluding the bottom outside edge which is a rough surface. They have what appears to be a Chinese goose hand painted with blue& white sponge ware. They are adorable and would be a exceptional addition to your collection!

Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovely pair of hand painted porcelain salt and pepper shaker I found on my last trip to France. Unmarked which was normal for such small pieces. We feel these are Limoges porcelain shakers. Very beautiful with hand painted pink flowers and green leaves on a soft multi pastel background. The shaker tops are painted in gold. They each have old cork stopers. They measure 2.5 inches tall and are in excellent condition for their great age. One has a tiny nip on the bottom inside rim and the other has a small line on the bottom rim. The colors are vibrant and the gold is in great condition. The salt and pepper set is missing the little corks for the bottom but they are in very good condition. They are and painted and dated 1914. The gold on the top is in good shape with no places that worn through. The pattern appears to be free handed as it is not perfect and is in good condition. No chips or scratches. Hand-painted a light sage green with an almond shaped spot that was left white on 2 sides. And that sage green is then dotted with turquoise blue all over it. Just the dots would have been so cute, but they hand-painted a nosegay of multi-colored flowers and then outlined the almond shape in a shimmery vanilla paint and used that same paint to dot around the top of each shaker. On each shaker are 2 hand painted daisies or"brown eyed Susans. They have butter yellow petals. A brown stamen& charming pointed olive green leaves. Below each flower are 3 columns of gold surrounded by a fine jet black liner. The tops of each are lush gilt extending down the sides& that too is has a fine jet black edge. Both have 13 pour holes with larger holes on one. Photo 5. I have washed them& placed new cork stoppers in each one. I have placed an old black glass hat pin in one of them as they can always to used for storing hat pins as well. That comes with them. Too.
