For auction is this lovely pair of porcelain salt and pepper shakers made in Japan. Deep blue accented with gold gilt. Hand painted with delicate pink flowers and pale green leaves. Look closely at the pictures to see the slight variations in the floral design and other embellishments. There is some gold loss around the holes in the pepper shaker. Also note picture#8-flake off the bottom. I do believe this came from the factory like this. It is smooth, no sharp edges, no paint loss. they measure 3 1/2 inches tall. Thanks for looking!

I have no idea how old they are but I believe they are in a Victorian style. They have a few marks that appear to be part of the manufacturing process since they are glazed over. They also have a couple of barely visible hairline cracks. If you look closely you may be able to find them. There is an almost illegible manufacturers mark on the base which appears to partially read“hand painted” I found these at the Goodwill store. You decide if I found trash or treasure!
