Set Indian Chief& Squaw Salt& Pepper Shakers Very old(Antique? Indian Chief and his Squaw are hand painted; made in Japan. And I think they are some type of stoneware or pottery. Bottom finish of Squaw has missing paint and is dark pottery. Wood Corks are in very good condition. Both pieces has JAPAN printed in Black Ink. The crevices of both pieces has the old aged stain(not crazing but dirty stain) should be cleaned but I will not do that. As I do not know what to use. No other damage found, just the aged staining and bottom of squaw I already mentioned. She has P on her front dress; he has S on left pant leg and both have 3 shaker holes in back. He is 3 3/4" tall and she is 3 1/4" These are possibly nearly 100 years old as they belonged to a cousin who gave to my daughter before cousin died. Vintage ceramic Indian Chief Salt and Pepper shakers, Native American Decor
Vintage ceramic Indian Chief salt and pepper shakers. I purchased these from an older woman who told me she acquired a collection of salt and pepper shakers from her mother-in-law. I do not believe these have ever been used. The cork stoppers are still intact. The Indians have a feather headdress that shows signs of age such as fading on the red side and a little discolored on the white side, but in overall good condition. The backs of the heads appear to have rub marks in the paint.may have happened when labels were peeled off. Very colorful and interesting pieces for your kitchen or dining room.These will definitely start some conversations around the table.

Vintage Indian Chief and Maiden Salt and Pepper Shakers Made in Occupied Japan
Nice set of figural salt and pepper shakers marked"Made in Occuoied Japan" They are about 3" high and are in very good condition with no chips. Cracks or chipped or worn paint. They still have original cork stoppers. There is a very tiny(less than 1/8" indentation on bottom edge of maiden shaker. It is original and not a chip as the green glaze covers the edge and it is glazed over.
