The set has not been used since about 1950 when my grandmother died. She got married 100 years ago and may have even inherited it from her mother as she was the only daughter. It sat on a knickknack shelf since then. It is obvious that the set was used at one time because some of the border paint has worn away. The salt shaker has larger holes than the one for pepper. VERY NICE HIGH QUALITY ANTIQUE JAPANESE KUTANI PORCELAIN HAND PAINTED SALT& PEPPER SHAKERS. OVERALL CONDITION IS GOOD. ONE HAS A SMALL BASE CHIP THAT DOES NOT SHOW AND ONE AT THE TOP. THE OTHER HAS A SMALL BASE CHIP THAT CAN BE SEEN. THERE IS SOME GOLD WEAR. THEY ARE 3 INCHES TALL, 2 INCHES WIDE.
