He in very good condition for his age(over 100 years old) and is made of a light golden short bristle mohair and still retains about 99% of the mohair. He has all the characteristics of American Top Stitched Teddies; large oval body; head is flat on top; flat back; no claws; short feet; and stitching that is applied on top of the seams. His original excelsior stuffing is still firm but crunchy with only a few"soft spots" which is consistent with bears of this age. He has original nose and mouth stitching which is a medium brown floss. His tan felt wool pads are in excellent condition with no holes.left foot may have had a little repair to the upper toe area. He has great. Possibly original, amber glass stick pin eyes(cannot tell if these are original because they seem to be glued in and one eye is a shade darker than the other.could be part of the glass blowing process) and large wide set ears. His fur is in exceptional condition. Still retaining the rich honey golden color and only tiny spots of fur loss, retaining approx. 99% of his fur(refer to pictures) Based on the condition he is in, he could book for over $750.00(based on Linda Mullins book Teddy Bears and Friends Identification and Price Guide, page 35) He is clean and free of musty odors and comes from a smoke free home too. The corks are still in salt and pepper shaker, they have broken off and I did not try to remove. There is a small crack at the butlers ankle. Included in this auction is a Bell that has a dress on that matches the other lady's dress, so I have included the bell in the auction. Vintage salt and pepper shakers 3 sets Black Americana Mammy and Chef
All three of these sets are very old. they show it. but no cracks or chips. all are in really good condition. they could all use a good cleaning Set 1: Orange kerchief hat and spoons. she has crazing on apron stamped handpainted on the bottom with cork stoppers 4 inches tall. both show normal wear for their age. Set 2: Souvenir set from New Orleans LA. she has some crazing starting on her apron. otherwise both are excellent condition. red kerchief and spoons. rubber stoppers. heart shaped sticker on bottom reads S.J.
