Vintage pair of male and female blue birds salt and pepper shakers. Very similar to Lefton/Norcrest blue birds. Hand painted. Both have the clear plastic plug. Partial OLD blue paper sticker reads Made in Japan on bottom of one. Blue bird with open wings is 2 3/4" T x 2 1/2" L x 2 1/4" Wide. Wing to wing. Has three holes on top of head. Marked Bavaria, Are decorated with an embossed bird and floral pattern, the nearest that I can date them is 1900 up to 1914, These were made for export from Bavaria. I do not have a way to test the gold. These salt and pepper shakers are in excellent condition, with no cracks' or chips there is a small spot of gold loss as shown in the last picture, spot measures 3mm, I do not believe the corks to be original to the set. approximately 3 1/2 inches high.

Vintage Yellow Bird Salt & Pepper Shakers with Holder - Made in Japan
Up for auction is a set of Salt and Pepper Shakers with a Holder. They are yellow with blue trim birds. T?hey are made of pottery. China or something like that? The holder is all yellow. In Photos 4 and 5 you can see the etched Made in Japan on the left side. They came with cork stoppers. One has the cork in place and the other has the cork loose inside the shaker. One of the shakers has a small chip on the base as seen in Photo 2- left bird. They are a dirty yellow and possibly would clean up more but I make it a practice to not wash antiques.

OLD ANTIQUE single BLUE SHAKER spice salt pepper sugar bird / butterfly design
Single shaker 3" x 2 1/2" Surface is satiny smooth with what appears to be a bird or butterfly-like design. Unknown if it is the original top on the shaker The holes in the top are bent. The shaker has chips and rough edges on top and inside top edge, which is uneven. It would make a lovely miniature vase for flower arrangements. This is an antique vintage pair of porcelain Pheasant salt and pepper shakers. They are very nicely made and they look great. On the bottom they have the original paper tag which has. Japan. They both still have the original cork in the bottom. They are 3 3/8 inches tall. 4 5/8 inches long, and 1 ½ inches semi round at the bottom. They are in very good condition. No cracks. Chips, dents, dings, holes, stains, and no repairs. One of them has a small part on the porcelain coming off on the bottom of it's tail. S/H to the U.S. is 5.00 dollars.
