Prominent nose, and a detailed open mouth showing tongue and teeth, and from which spills a branch/stem bearing an apple with leaves around. She is absolutely stunning and you won't find another like her. The home had a maritime theme as many grander homes along the Mississippi do. Below the front gables. Hung these oak corbels in the form of a ship's figurehead/ siren. This plaster artisan took a mold from one of the original corbels and rendered them in plaster. We purchased his estate last year with some of his old plaster pieces. Last year, we sold one other of these but it had been finished off to match the oak corbels on the home. This one has been left in original old plaster condition(we find beautiful) and looks just like the relic you would want to own. In the photos, you'll see ... morewhat appears to be a crack in the plaster but it is not a crack. This line going through the plaster is where the original antique oak figurehead had a crack. When taking the mold. The plaster artisan left the crack in to give it a most realistic appearance. You can, in some places, still see the imperfections of the original oak corbel. Gorgeous. I love corbels and the history that go with them! They are getting harder to find because they are usually found on historical homes under the eaves. This particular one is solid wood and was put together in sections. Can you imagine how much work these took to make in bulk for that particular house? Amazing. You can see some of the original finish but at some point some black was put on it and then it was lightly hit with some spray paint that Lowes sell that gives it a rough texture. Thanksfully. They didn't use a lot of the product so it will be much easier to sand off. This would look amazing painted in an eggshell cream and lightly sand the edges to give it back its aged look. It is 4.5 pounds~ It is 11 inches tall from top to bottom, widest part of the base is 6 inches, width at the top is 9 inches, the base is 6 x 6. 7 Victorian Style ARCHITECTURAL Salvage Country American Wood Corbel Shelf Brackets Brackets measure 10 1/4 x 4 1/4 x 3 1/2. Identical. Composed of three pieces of wood(either pine or poplar) Stained a dark brown. These are reproduction and not antique but are at least 10 years old and have been used once that I am aware of. The finish is original. The outside pieces of wood are cut with a flourish design in the side. The center piece, which is thicker, is in a complementary design. The three pieces are nailed together. All are solid with a few cracks from drying and age. Three show no signs of use, Four have a nail hole towards the bottom(see last photo) These are custom made and not mass produced. Would be appropriate for either indoor or outdoor use with the correct finish. Shipping to the US only. Questions welcome.

Antique Plaster Chalkware Lamp Stand Shelf Sconce
This auction is for a plaster/chalkware hanging shelf or lamp stand that I bought at an estate auction in Ohio in the mid 1980s. I fell in love with it. But then never had a place to use it. I do not know how old it is, but most of the things in the auction had been antique. It measures 7.5" wide at the top. It is 3.75" deep& 5" high. It needs to be cleaned. Which I have never done. There is some damage, which I show in the last photo. It appears to have been glued/repaired. It was like this when I got it& really does not detract from its beauty. There are also a few fleabites on some of the edges. It is still a unique piece just looking for the perfect place to hang it. This is a heavier item& if I have over charged for the S&H. Up for auction is this very authentic vintage RARE MEDIEVAL GOTHIC ARCHITECTURAL GROTESQUE ~ GARGOYLE ~ HAND CARVED IN STONE ~ CORBEL ~ SALVAGE. This is a fabulous find for the collector of the eclectic! The piece is highly carved in stone with extreme detail to the human features and expressions. I believe the stone to be limestone.
