Up for bid are two Antique Steel Corbel Brackets that were found in a house that was being remodeled. The house dated from 1892 so these could be from that period forward. The photos show the corbels to be pink in color. However they are off white in color. These corbels are made of steel and are hollow. There is only slight surface rust here and there on the corbels; no holes from rust nor none starting. They would clean up quite well with some paint stripping material applied. Each measuring 11" long, 5-1/4" tall and about 3/4" thick. Featuring original old creamy white paint, these once graced a front porch, mounted between two columns. I always planned in using these somewhere, just never got around to mounting them- they both have a tiny pair of dowels mounted to the base which was how there were originally pinned into place. Condition is very nice with no cracks, hairlines, major chips or damage- lots of paint wear, scuffing, chipping and dirt cased in the cuttings- does not detract a bit. If you trim the tiny dowels off, the two sections can be joined or pushed together to create a neat round centerpiece for a table- or they look ... moregreat just decorating the mantle as a backdrop for other old painted architectural items. Antique decorative pieces taken out of 1875 house. I know the ones like this are called coins they have the round circle in the middle but not sure what these are called. I have bent the nails back as you may want to cut them off. Very decorative with the three wood dots-flower or sunburst in the middle. They measure 10-1/4" long x 5" in width x a depth of approx. 1-1/4" They will need cleaned up and the one has a piece of metal nailed on it but the sunburst under it is ok. You will have to fill the nail hole in.

One of the corbels has a weaker place were the wood was seamed- but it doesn't come off. Set of 2 Two Vintage Antique Architectural Gold Paint Plaster Corbels Brackets !
Hi: For your consideration here is a nice set of two(2) vintage or antique sconces or brackets! These medium to large size pieces measure a bit over 8 1/4" from the top of the shelf to the bottom tip. And the surface area of the shelf top is about 9 3/8" wide by 4 1/2" deep which is the maximum depth they would stick out from a wall when mounted. The pieces weigh close to two pounds each unpacked. They are made of what appears to be white plaster or a similar material and the gold finish looks similar to gilders paste/paint. There is a small wire rod in the plaster with a twisted piece of wire on the back of each for hanging. Both are in good condition with no major loss or cracks. Both have light to dark spots or areas in the top shelf part(3rd photo from last) and the other has several small chips and related finish loss. ... moreThe'worst' chipped area is shown in the last photo but there is nothing that could not easily be touched up. This nicely preserved late 1800s terracotta section of frieze inspired by the designs of Louis Sullivan measures 18” tall x 8 ¼” x 4 ½” and featured a clever spattered“icing” glaze that closely mimics carved limestone.
