Lot of 2 Vintage Lion's Head Shelf Bracket Supports Corbels
These two plaster lion's heads purportedly came from the old Aragon Ballroom in Chicago during the 20's and 30's but take that bit of trivia with a grain of salt as that is what we were told by the seller. My wife and I have had them since 1963 and they were old when we acquired them at an auction outside of Chicago. We used them as decorations for many years but they no longer suit our decorating style. They are being sold as a pair. They measure 14" tall. 6" wide and 8" deep. They are made of plaster and have brackets molded into them through which I installed bolts to support them. They weigh a bit over 8 lbs each. One has some damage at the top where it supports the shelf but I think that is easily repairable.

Vintage PAIR Metal Cast Iron CORBELS Shelf Bracket Brace Support 18" Industrial
Matching pair of vintage primitive metal shelf brackets or corbels. Not sure of the metal. But maybe cast iron? A magnet does stick to them. Measures approximately 18" down each side. These are unpainted(or the paint has worn off) and are rusted. They need sanding and painting. The are in perfect condition otherwise. These do not have predrilled holes; this is authentic architectural iron designed to be welded. I bought them at an estate sale and have another pair available(total of 4 corbels) The original owners' last name started with an"S" and they had these hung to look like an"S" Please ask any questions! This is a stunning set of solid silver-toned bronze industrial wall mount shelf brackets. they are made from thick heavy bronze. Are heavy pieces, and have great industrial look. they mount flush to the wall and have grooves to hold a flat surface. it can hold a piece as long as desired but would have to fit the width of the bracket. any material can be used and cut to size…glass. Wood, marble,etc. made by Hovaga New York. they have acquired a wonderful patina from age and are solid pieces. there are two pairs one is a bit larger and longer than the other. the larger measures 6 1/4 inches from the wall by 3 1/2 inches wide by 3 1/8 inches up and down. the smaller set measures 5 1/4 inches from the wall by 3 1/2 inches wide by 3 1/8 inches up and down. they are in good antique shape.
