There is one more important feature of rubberwood that is very important in today's world. Rubberwood is the most ecologically"friendly" lumber used in today's furniture industry. After the economic life of the rubber tree. Which is generally 26-30 years, the latex yields become extremely low and the planters then fell the rubber trees and plant new ones. So, unlike other woods that are cut down for the sole purpose of producing furniture, rubberwood is used only after it completes it's latex producing cycle and dies. This wood is therefore eco-friendly in the sense that we are now using what was going as waste. Do not mistake the name rubberwood when it comes to its quality features.

Set of 2 Two Vintage Antique Architectural Gold Paint Plaster Corbels Brackets !
Hi: For your consideration here is a nice set of two(2) vintage or antique sconces or brackets! These medium to large size pieces measure a bit over 8 1/4" from the top of the shelf to the bottom tip. And the surface area of the shelf top is about 9 3/8" wide by 4 1/2" deep which is the maximum depth they would stick out from a wall when mounted. The pieces weigh close to two pounds each unpacked. They are made of what appears to be white plaster or a similar material and the gold finish looks similar to gilders paste/paint. There is a small wire rod in the plaster with a twisted piece of wire on the back of each for hanging. Both are in good condition with no major loss or cracks. Both have light to dark spots or areas in the top shelf part(3rd photo from last) and the other has several small chips and related finish loss. ... moreThe'worst' chipped area is shown in the last photo but there is nothing that could not easily be touched up. These are Chinese handmade(mortise and tenon) lattice screen corbels. The corbels have signs of use/wear. But are in really good condition with a medium reddish brown mahogany finish. NOTE- One side of each corbel is weathered due to sun exposure. And the other is not as weathered due to less/no sun exposure. The corbels measure 24 1/2" long X 14 1/2" wide X 3 1/4" thick. Set of 4 Arched Victorian Farmhouse Porch Post Braces Corbels w/ Spindles - VGUC
Set of four arched Victorian or farmhouse style porch post brace corbels with turned spindles. These are solid wood and have been painted. The arched portion of all four measure 7" from the inner corner out in both directions. While the sections that mount against the post measure 10 1/8" in both directions on two of the corbels and 9 1/4" in both directions on the other two corbels. Arched sections are 1/2" wide; mounting sections are 1 1/2" wide. I can only assume that the difference is due to the fact that they were handmade for the porch and are not a mass produced product. Unsure of the age of these corbels, but most of the older homes in my area that have these date from the late 1800s through the early 1900s. While these could certainly be re-used on a porch, they would also make delightful shelf brackets or ... morecould be simply used as architectural pieces for display. Up for bid is a set of 8 or 9 pieces of architectural antique porch brackets. Also referred to as corbels, which make up 4 pairs. Each bracket spans 26-1/4" long across the soffit or frieze portion of your porch at a height of about 14-15" down from the frieze or soffit. Each bracket is approximately 1-3/4 to 2" thick and is painted with several coats of white paint. Most are in exceptional condition for their age, believed to be from the mid to late 1800's, though there are a few, which have a missing piece of wood here or there. There is also a portion of a ninth bracket, not complete that will be included, so that parts of this piece can be cut off to replace what might be missing on the others. A great start to a porch renovation or restoration project. Antique Matching Set of 4 Architectural Salvaged Corbels with Original Paint
Here is a matching set of four salvalged antique scroll type design corbels with the remnants of the original paint. The corbels measure 24" high. 5" wide, and 19" deep(however the ones with the attached trim measure closer to 22" deep) I have tried to show as much as I can with the 12 pictures available, but have taken additional photos(5 of each corbel showing each side, the top, back, and bottom) There are some pieces missing here and there on the corbels, I guess to be expected when they are this old. Each corbel is 2.75" x 2" x 2" This item came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Rare PAIR OF 2 salvaged fancy BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE OLD wooden corbels with swirls. Leaves, and barrel shapes and embellishments. Victorian feel, very old. AS shown in the photos, THIS PAIR IS 99.9% EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO MISSING PIECES! There are a few flakes of finish missing and sign of age in the finish.
